It will mostly depend on the thickness and drape of the fabric, but for a really crisp result you will likely need some interfacing on the collar and button placket (maybe some others). What kind of fabric do you have?
It's just a generic cotton fabric that you find in the solid color cottons at joann's (not quilting cotton). It definitely isn't thick or maintains its shape. I am planning to use interfacing on the collar and sleeves, but I'm not sure if I need it on the torso area. I'm worried about it looking more shirt like than vest like.
Then definitely add some interfacing around the closures! Otherwise the pulling can become quite obvious and not great.
I think I am going to just interface the whole torso area so it's more structured. Does that seem like a terrible idea?
No one talked me out of it so I guess I will find out the hard way lmao
I tested it out on one of the lower panels and it looks way nicer than just 2 layers with no interfacing so yolo
@pizza_rolls @just_chill I'm not qualified to talk you either into or out of anything of the sort. But I *am* going to be watching with interest, haha! 🍿
I'm not qualified to talk myself into or out of anything either, I'm just making it up as a go!
I think I am gonna do light interfacing on the top pieces and medium on the bottom. I will post a picture of it completed if it's not a total disaster 👀
Can't wait to see it
There still is @craftingfails for total disasters.... On a more serious note, if you like interfaing more then it's the better decision!
