Babylon stayed an important center of economy, culture and administration for centuries after its empire was gone. I only wish complete obliteration to the USA. May it split up and never reunite.
It was a major city for nearly 2000 years, and even its fall took 500 years after that.
And was mostly because the rivers moved. It it's place Seleukea-Ctesiphon and then Badgdad afterwards took over.
I plan to divide it into foreign occupation zones among future communist nations, like Germany, but this time done properly (no capitalist part). And then I would keep it that way long enough to de-Nazify it (at least a thousand years).
