Crazy how the US can just admit to things like this and nothing ever happens.
I think there was already some anti government psychosis the pentagon could have easily exacerbated. The anti Vax movement here was also supported by most of the Murdoch newspapers and TV channels as well.
I heard a good take about this on Chapo that most people are not used to government intervention being a good thing in their lives. Neoliberal governments have spent so long stepping back and trying not to be involved in things that they were ill equipped to step in when they had to and people weren't used to having the government in their lives in that way
