Hey all, it's the time of the year where my subs are running out. Wondering if I should change things up. Right now I have drunkenslug, nzbfinder, geekhub, and nbz.su. Any suggestions on new/better sites?

I am hoping to get a drunken slug invite. I have gaps to fill in my plex server. I am currently using Geek and althub but still have problems with many failed files. If anyone has DS invite it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been reading recently that bulknews' SSL certificate expired and people have not been able to connect security. They were able to connect only if they disabled secure connections.

This was a little more than a month ago and, crickets, I see no resolution.

If you are on bulknews, can you tell me if it is up and running for you and on a secure connection?

I am new to lemmy.world. I was searching for a Drunkenslug invite and stumbled about this site. I read thru a couple of threads and I like it here. Seems better than reddit, which I dont use. Even tho they seem to have a community around that aswell. I am fairly new to Usenet in general(doing this for like 5month now). I just recently build a new server setup and wanted to expand my media library. Since I am not too happy with the indexer I have I tried to get a Drunkenslug invite since I heard its the best. I appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to share one with me!

So, a very kind person helped set me up with Usenet and while I understand some of it, some of it goes above my head. This person, set me up with buying TB blocks. So far, it has worked well. I try and buy them for $10USD when they go on sale but I missed the last one and I'm running out. They're $45usd regular!

My wife and I watch a lot of weekly recurring shows so it adds up quick. Between that and movies I probably go through a couple TB/year.

They have some unlimited plans though but I'm not familiar with some of the "perks".

As it says getting back into Usenet after more than 2 years just looking to get into drunken slug thank you for any help.

Got my account, logged in and navigated the website at least once every two or three days to get a lay of the land before doing anything with it, still got deleted. At least I assume that's what happened.

They do have some "uniques", specially non-English content.

If you were curious, that's a good opportunity to try them out.
