The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder was a true freshman at Northwestern and arrived on their campus earlier on in the summer. Due to Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald being recently fired, Cryer and any other Northwestern football player are permitted to enter the Transfer Portal and will be granted immediate eligbility at their next stop according to NCAA rules. Cryer was the second Wildcat to enter the portal following Fitzgerald's firing.
