Eintracht is backing out of negotiations now that Wolfsburg has made a better offer to PAOK for left centerback Koulierakis. Eintracht has cast a wider net in the past few days for a left center back, so all is not lost. Really puts the team in a pickle regardless. That is the longest non-signing I've seen in some time.

The tour was successful for Eintracht as they played two friendlies in two countries abroad. Louisville was an interesting choice for the club, being that the Kentucky club is in the second division of US soccer. Nonetheless the facilities were great and the fans showed up. It doesn't hurt to have a World Cup game winning goal player on your team. There was definitely draw specifically for him, but the club's draw was still larger.

Now all three of the 24/25 Bundesliga trikots are unveiled for the Eintracht. This away kit attempts to rock the boat the least. It is a black kit with a red Eintracht crest, with two red tusks flanking the neck. As with the others, the kit features the small localization flourishes, "Hier regiert de SGE" and "Im Herzen von Europa". The kit is already being criticized as looking like last year's training kit, but for €90. The U21, Frauen, and Männer will play in these kits.

The last kit to be revealed is the European kit, this will be the last kit featuring with a Nike emblem as the team moves to Adidas in the 25/26 season.

Along with Felix Uduokai, Eintracht is looking at a wider list of candidates to fill Pacho's spot, at least in the short term. Left center-back Bernardo from Bochum is on the list. The left-footed 29 year old has a Transfermarkt price of €5.5M.

Also on Krösche's list for consideration: Armel-Bella Kotchap at Southampton. The right-footed 22 year old center-back has a €12M price at Transfermarkt.

From Bild: Suddenly new defense candidates at Eintracht:

After the departure of W.P. to PSG, Eintracht need a new IV. Desired candidate K. Koulierakis from PAOK.

Shortening: Because of CL-qualification and the "difficult president" of PAOK, they are looking elsewhere, as Toppi demands early reinforcement. Should PAOK pass against Malmö, the play-offs on 20 & 27.08. are only.

No quick solution in sight at the moment.

As Bild learned and also shortened: Bernardo from Bochum (29 / contract 2026) and Armel-Bella Kotchap FCS (22/2026) is Eintracht's turn. ABK also traded VFB and TSG.

Plus Eintracht has inquired about Felix Uduokhai.

PAOK and Eintracht have not reached an agreement on Koulierakis. Eintracht is looking at other options. Augsburg left center-back Felix Uduokai is getting some consideration. Per Transfermarkt: a left foot with one year left on his contract, he'd reportedly cost Eintracht €5-6 million dollars. Uduokai has expressed a desire to leave Augsburg. Per Transfermarkt: Hoffenheim, Lille, and Besiktas are said to also be interested in Uduokai.

Per Transfermarkt: PAOK seems to want Koulierakis around for the Champions League qualifiers, and has requested a price of around €15M for Koulierakis.

ARTICLE TRANSLATION: Eintracht Frankfurt are now looking into a move for Felix Uduokhai.

The 26-year-old left-footed central defender from FC Augsburg wants to move in August and only has one year left on his contract. FCA has been informed of this and will release him if a suitable offer is made.

No agreement yet on Koulierakis.

There is still no contact between Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg, but talks are ongoing between the SGE and the player's side.

Uduokhai is interesting for Eintracht because he is experienced and knows the Bundesliga. He is also in top shape and ready for action. In addition, there is still no agreement with PAOK Thessaloniki regarding the transfer of Konstantinos Koulierakis.

Eintracht and PSG are shaking hands once again on a transfer deal. Willian Pacho, who played for Eintracht for one whole season, moves to Paris for €40 million plus bonuses. Eintracht signed Pacho in the summer of 2023 from Royal Antwerp FC for 9 million. Good bit of business clearing €31 million. Koulierakis at PAOK is widely seen as the replacement for Pacho, but while the club and Koulierakis are in agreement, the deal has not been finished. Stuttgart is attempting to sign him before Eintracht, supposedly.

Max also leaves the Eintracht and is moving to Greece to play for Panathinaikos in Athens for €1 million.

Say what you will about Nike, I've loathed them for most of their time spent with Eintracht. Their templates are look like they are made of scraps. The flocking is so thin, it oxidizes and falls off rather quickly. They are the definition of fast-fashion planned obsolescence. The home kit this year is no exception and it was met widely with negative criticism, the Marlboro kit. Sure it might be another remix of a retro kit, but it looks like design by committee. The new third trikot is a remix on the orange 81/82 - 82/83 kits. TBH, I think it would be nicer without the darker orange stripes and retain the black piping for the shoulders, but all-in-all, I like it.

The Droogs are gonna enjoy this!

It is a safe, classic look, kind of like the black bundesliga kit from last year. What are your thoughts?

The team will travel to Louisville, a 12 hour travel time, and practice before heading on another plane to Juarez to play a friendly there against the Bravos. Notable in the article that Eintracht is being paid a "nice 6 figure sum" for the friendly in Juarez. I wonder if we'll see Marco Fabián on this trip.

Then the team comes back to Louisville for more practice and a friendly against LouCity. I'll be in attendance!

Then the team travels to New York City for some more practice and press/marketing interviews before heading back to Frankfurt.

Eintracht beat TSV Heusenstamm 12-0 today in a friendly match warming up before the team leaves for Juarez. The team plays against the FC Juarez Bravos on Friday 7/26.

Done deal. Eintracht brings on right back Dane Rasmus Kristensen on a one year loan from Leeds United. The 27 year old comes with experience at Ajax, RB Salzburg, Leeds United, and AS Roma. The purchase option is reportedly set at around €18 million.

Nnamdi Collins looks to be headed to Nürnberg on a one year loan with no purchase option. Considering the needs of a back four, not so sure this is a good idea especially as defenders can be prone to injury. Last year, Collins showed well with his late season appearances and looked to be making a push for a regular spot on the roster. A one year loan could get him more minutes and experience though. Interesting development.

With Eintracht and Toppmüller wanting a system switch to a back four, there is a need for additional players. Currently, Tuta, Pacho, Koch, Collins, and Amenda are available for the needs in a back four arrangement.

Rumor is that Eintracht is on the case for Danish right back Rasmus Kristensen from Leeds United. He's recently played at AS Roma as well. Leeds is asking for around €15 million, so Eintracht may consider a loan due to the hefty fee.

Looking at the pulse of fans from Leeds and Roma, and how he played at both, it seems like this would not be a solid starting move, but a depth move. His performances lack quality, despite eating minutes.

Igor Matanović is back from his loan in Karlsruhe, and ready to make his mark at the club. He says he rather likes to be alone at the front, but works well with another striker too. Eintracht is said to be flush with striker options this year with Matanović, Marmoush, and Ekitike. I'd personally like to see Marmoush move back into a 10 position and have both Matanović and Ekitike play a dual striker formation. There is still plenty of time before the start of the season. Training and the friendlies in North America will give us some clues.

Translation into English:

IPO could make equity increase possible

According to information from Bild on Sunday, Eintracht is toying with the idea of going public. Interested parties are to be offered a package of shares, which, however, does not include voting rights at the Annual General Meeting. With the sale, Eintracht wants to increase its equity (currently 60 million euros) by 50 million euros. CEO Axel Hellmann is said to have recently instructed the Supervisory Board to examine the move. At a press conference on Friday, Hellmann indicated: "We are interested in sustainably securing capital procurement. Our own equity base and securing liquidity in order to remain capable of acting beyond one season." According to the members' resolution, the registered association may not hold less than 60 percent of the shares and a potential investor may not acquire more than 24.9 percent in order to prevent a blocking minority.

Hellmann continues to agitate the fanbase, at least from my perspective. This would make me far far less interested in the club, if it were to happen. You'd have a hydra of interests controlling how the club behaves and we have that problem enough already.

Hellmann gave a press conference interview where he talked about the analysis of last season. The analysis covered different aspects, including self criticisms from the staff. He believes Eintracht has a really strong team with a strong coaching staff, but thinks they have to make fans believe again.

He said something that he may come to regret in his exact choice of words:

This club has its own peculiarities and that does not depend on where we are in the league table. Please do not take this in pyrotechnic terms: We have to turn this stadium into a castle in which we can ignite people.

While his statement is very true, we might see some ultra light shows at his request this season. 😆 🔥 🧨 🔥

It has been known for some time, but now it is official: After 304 competitive matches and 24,606 minutes of competitive play for Eintracht Frankfurt, Makoto Hasebe is moving. Not the club, but from defense to the sidelines: The Asian with the most Bundesliga games of all time (384) will stay with the Eagles and will be Dennis Schmitt's assistant coach in the new U21 coaching team for the 2024/25 season alongside Arber Mustafa and Dennis Merten (focus on analysis). This will be the first time that the 2018 DFB Cup winner and 2022 UEFA Europa League winner has taken on a coaching position, but Hasebe is not breaking new ground. The 114-time Japanese international took his first steps in coaching during his active career. At the end of 2021, he successfully took part in the DFB 'Players Pathway' project, as part of which he coached the then U15 team at Riederwald, among others. The 40-year-old now holds the B+ license. Hasebe, who was named Asia's international footballer of the year in 2018, will start his duties on September 1st and will bring his experience from almost 700 competitive matches as a professional to Eintracht's oldest training team.

Alexander Richter, head of the youth performance center: "We are very, very proud to have won Makoto as a coach for our youth performance center. He has shown great interest in starting his coaching career with Eintracht Frankfurt's youth team. We are very happy to accompany him on this path and will try to develop him further in this new role. In the first few meetings, Makoto was very friendly and open and we are sure that our boys can benefit as much as possible from his extensive experience."

Makoto Hasebe: "I am of course looking forward to the new challenge and am very grateful to Eintracht for giving me this opportunity. I am also incredibly happy to be able to continue working at this club. I was a professional footballer for 23 years and have gained a lot of experience during that time, but the job of a coach is completely different. First of all, I need to gain as much experience as possible in my new position and develop myself step by step."

Krösche and Toppmüller continue to speak very directly about Igor Matanović and his development as a target man striker. Could he be a missing piece of the Eintracht formation that unlocks scoring potential of the club?

Buried under Bahoya's kid bro attaching himself to the SGE, and Trapp's thoughts on the first day of training, there is a blurb about transfer poaching. Krösche expects Willian Pacho and Omar Marmoush to get offers from the EPL in August once the transfer window starts to shake out. For context, Transfermarkt currently has Pacho's value set at €35m and Marmoush's set at €22m. The fees established by Krösche seem to indicate that he's declared them as off the market.

Eintracht appears to have signed Oscar Højlund as training begins.

The start of training is bringing finalization to coaching needs and organizational needs.

Zembrod worked alongside Toppmüller under Nagelsmann at Bayern. Fießer, a former Eintracht youth player and assistant coach for SGE, comes with recent experience as an assistant with Vitesse Arnheim and VfL Bochum.

They are both signed on and expected on the touchline tomorrow for the start of training. That brings the total assistant coach count to four. Zembrod and Fießer join Stefan Buck and Erwin Bradasch as assistant coaches to Toppmüller. Bradasch has departed the club as of today per: https://x.com/inside_ffm/status/1810657780988006744

A technical director role reporting to Timmo Hardung is expected to be filled by Gelson Fernandes, Permin Schwegler, or Marco Neppe. Fernandes and Schwegler are both former Eintracht players, both with experience in club management since they retired. Neppe's bona-fides is from Bayern, where he was in a similar role.

More rumblings about a potential new stadium in Frankfurt. CEO Axel Hellmann says that it is time to start planning for a new stadium since it takes roughly 15 years to get one planned and built. He's looking towards 2040 and the needs of the club then.

Eintracht currently leases the stadium from the city for use. As the primary user of the stadium, it is said that they get priority on decisions, but the pitch has suffered in prime time matches for Eintracht and for international play. Owning a stadium could prove important for the future of the club.

Support for head coach Toppmöller? SGE is apparently planning to support head coach Dino Toppmöller by hiring more experienced assistants. In addition to the current assistant coaches Erwin Bradasch and Stefan Buck, one or two more assistants are to be added. This is a reaction to the findings of the past season, in which Toppmöller was often under considerable pressure - and perhaps even overstretched. One possible candidate is Xaver Zembrod, a familiar colleague from his time at Bayern Munich under Julian Nagelsmann, as confirmed again today by the newspaper "Bild". According to reports, the 57-year-old will join the team on Wednesday.
