It's summer here and so lots of people are wearing lighter clothing, e.g. not unusual to see women in shorter skirts/sundresses etc. I am kind of puzzled however at the number wearing shorter skirts with shorts underneath that are visible, e.g. walking down the street. I get the modesty aspect but I don't get the skirt aspect. If you're going to wear a skirt that you feel needs shorts underneath, why not just wear shorts in the first place?

Take e.g. semi/pro tennis as an easy example. As far as I can tell there is no rule requiring female players to wear skirts but many do. Typically these are very short and often loose fitting and so they have shorts fitted underneath. OK... so why not just wear shorts in the first place like e.g. female (and male!) football (soccer) players do?

Excepting people who are simply trying to cover themselves up as much as possible or have issues with chub rub, what am I missing?

I'm curious what other spaces folks have been considering and if they'd like to share those thoughts with the rest of us. I'd love to have safe spaces for us to have fun and share.

I know beehaw likes to cater to minorities. However does anyone know of a sub thread that is for women or female identifying?
