Just 15 more minutes and one less Chelsea player and Brighton may have nicked that

[–] No_Engineering_8832@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Thank you VAR for not letting the Brighton cheats off the hook

[–] KonigSteve@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not saying they made any incorrect decisions, but the way the ref and var ref handled themselves is a farce

[–] Yeethannes@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How the fuck can you use more than 10 seconds checking that «handball»? Fucking insanity

[–] calel8242@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Never a pen, but a drop ball makes no sense. Announcers were totally right, such a farce.

[–] nsk08001@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Pawson pointed to the spot in real time. It was very subdued but it happened. It’s why he comes back from VAR and makes the VAR motion to change the call and why it’s not a corner. Play stopped when it hit Colwill and the ball technically never goes out

[–] Xehanz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brighton robbed of a corner at the end

[–] Artistic-Buyer-3219@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That was one of the worst officiating performances I’ve ever seen in my life

[–] montiel_scores@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

IDK what was going on at end but that’s. a huge win

[–] BarbaricGamers@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Pawson is a joke

[–] JiveTurkey688@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aa refereeing display for the ages

[–] cocaine_model@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Great back and forth game. Caicedo should’ve been off but I think the Mudryk pen was the right call

[–] Sal21G@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What in the actual fuck?

Fucking hell, I’m quitting my job and becoming a ref, becuase clearly you only need to be stupid as shit to be qualified.

[–] NaiveElk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

PL refs are an absolute joke

Ref & Var ball. What a shit show

[–] GOR098@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Quite the show for neutrals.

[–] Username6510@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Would love to know what VAR were saying for the handball.

[–] 1tap-merchant@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brighton couldn't win against 10 men defensively susceptible Chelsea for more than a half. They were going down the whole game very easy winning fouls against Chelsea. Had they stayed on their feet maybe they could have won. Chelsea I would say were lucky to get a win because their opponents chose to do simulations instead of playing football.

[–] Noahgooner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What a mess

[–] tuerancekhang@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What was that confusing last minute referreeing? BHA shot into Chelsea's defender face and deflect out. Check for possible hand ball even it's clear as day not? Then check complete and no corner? What is the ref doing?

[–] lukezndr@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't understand how they add injury time. There's like no rhyme or reason to it.

[–] official_bagel@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Giving a drop ball instead of a corner is just another illustration about how poor the standard of officiating is.

A monitor check for a clear header. Then taking away Brighton’s corner. This is league embarrassing.

EDIT: Apparently Pawson gave a penalty on the pitch? Guess I (and the majority of the sub based on confusion here) missed that. Weird that no one on the pitch / stadium reacted to the original call either.

[–] mj979@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Cocks out boys! Dub has been sealed

[–] kk451128@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ok, can anyone explain why the restart was a drop ball, and not a corner? No penalty was absolutely the right call, but the ball did go out for a corner.

[–] Spare-Noodles@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It was a dropped ball because the ref called a penalty on the pitch

[–] Imhere4urdownvotes@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Had me at the edge of my seat... 3 points in. We should really address indiscipline issue, can't be playing hot potato with red cards every match.

[–] moranjog@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

de zerbi probably dislikes 95% of refs now

[–] Headlesshorsman02@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

And exhale 😮‍💨 😮‍💨😮‍💨

[–] Runarhalldor@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Embarassing officiating today

[–] JustAboutUpToSpeed@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mastermind De Zerbi bringing on the slowest player in the league against Mudryk.

Also Brighton repeated diving in the 2nd half, not that the ref bothered to book them. Joke of a team.

Joke officials too trying to give Brighton a pen for the ball hitting Colwill in the head.

[–] tottenhamnole@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brighton properly fucked.

[–] yash_1310@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That last VAR check was interesting to say the least

[–] TrenAt14@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Chelsea is comedy pure.
Nearly bottled a 2-0 lead

Officials are shit

[–] fuckyouidontneedone@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What a performance down a man for a half, not pretty but we count those

[–] zi76@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Great performance in the second half

[–] PlaneKiwiFruit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How have you managed to give a goal kick after Colwill got pummeled in the face?

[–] Thesecondswallow@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Refs continue to make people despise them more at 11.

[–] abnormaltruck@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The VAR confiscated the Brighton corner. LOL.

[–] Kougteksarth@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wtf was that colwill "handball" var situations at the end 🤣

[–] jasperplumpton@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He gave the penalty onfield (without much conviction) then the VAR review was to overturn it, which is why they started with a drop-ball

[–] Hawkeye91803@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What a truly, truly, truly awful officiated game…

[–] Chapea12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

VAR official: “yo, come watch this video. This guy gets totally nailed in the face. So funny…. Wait what were we doing? Um.. do a drop ball.”

[–] montiel_scores@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That was egregious refereeing at the end but we fought hard here. Sanchez and Enzo were absolutely fantastic.

[–] ToasterRouble@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That review for hand ball… is the VAR official insane?

[–] Chapea12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ref standards and VAR standards have been atrocious this season.

[–] flower____boi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Terrible game from Pawson. Last ten minutes was a joke, especially the penalty and subsequent drop ball bullshit. Not to mention not giving a clear second yellow to Caicedo earlier

[–] Still_Unit1071@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Huge win given we went down to 10 men. They had a fair few starters come on in the second half and we still outplayed them

[–] luvvdmycat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Travesty.

Dat wuz a.

[–] wm_1176@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

A mix of a bad ref, the worst VAR, and a a truly terrible commentator

[–] ii_ConiiK@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can someone explain those last 5 minutes to me?

Ball hits defender square in the face and goes out. VAR check handball. Recommend drop ball. Goal kick given.

Where is the corner? Why use the furthest camera in the stadium to check for handball? Why are Colwill and Sanchez getting into a scrap with their old teams?

What?
