Is ugochukwu injured

[–] HungLuke@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you don't like chaos that gives you a heart attack, you don't like Chelsea football

[–] lampageu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can anybody explain why it's a drop ball?

[–] ujjuboii@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

what a fucking shitshow this was

[–] NotClayMerritt@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Another game where the result was positive but so many variables that leave a mixed taste in your mouth. Disasi and Badiashille were fucking massive today. They can share MOTM.

[–] GoalaAmeobi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The funniest possible result

[–] 1tap-merchant@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Kinda weird seeing brighton fans complaining about ref when they were going down easy and winning soft fouls whole game.

[–] PositiveDuck@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sanest prem league referee performance

[–] Crumeshot@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How are all these announcers/commentators seriously claiming the Milner challenge wasn’t a foul? Am I missing something? Surely they’re just trying to be controversial?

[–] fan-tung@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Most Chelsea matches have just been fever dreams as far as I’m concerned. Don’t think I see as many strange and weird events in other matches - not talking about incorrect or controversial - just weird.

[–] ttubbster@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The ball hit Colwills large head, obviously it wasnt a pen but why did he give Chelsea possesion? It shouldve been a corner to brighton after the var check.

[–] zaqstr@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Is the Mudryk penalty really that controversial?

Considering we have one of the biggest absentee lists in the league and so fielded quite possibly one of the worst XI’s we could and Chelsea still struggled is a good sign for us. Consider too that our entire squad cost less than Caiedo was sold to them for too. We get a lot of injuries back next month supposedly, and played just two days ago. Not the worst result. Ref had a nightmare though.

[–] CaptLeaderLegend26@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I still have no clue what happened in the last 5 minutes of that match.

[–] vk2499@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tim Howard is a pathetic analyst. Dude is mad Chelsea are celebrating a win and that the ref gave a clear pen. How he has a job is a mystery.

[–] JakeNutters@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Expected to lose coming in epically with the lineup but now it feels shit because we threw things away, knew Milner shouldn't have come on just can't deal with pace at all.

Mitoma getting back to his best I thought very electric just no one in the right area to find his crosses.

Brentford at home midweek is a must win if we want to actually challenge for a European spot this season.

[–] resident_hater@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Poch is the right guy for this situation. Mess of a club but he's come in and kinda steadied the water for a bit.

[–] ClaytonWest74@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

today is absolutely disaster class by referee

so almost any other day really

[–] Comrade-Conrad-4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Awesome for Caicedo finishing the game with 4 yellows

[–] WatchLaw@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Milner should've been off twice lol

[–] j65dxUb@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

will get downvoted but all the problems with this match was due to the on field ref and not VAR.

Without VAR, the penalty isn’t given when it should’ve been (pawson said no). then pawson isn’t sure about mitoma dive it’s reviewed and rightly no, but pawson doesn’t book him. then the handball, the ref gives and VAR recommends to overturn it and drop ball as that’s the rules.

todays problems are all on the on field ref Pawson, not VAR.

other incidents: caicedo no second yellow? pawson. milner no second yellow? pawson. corner for brightons goal? pawson.

VAR worked well today.

Chelsea fans: why can't you be normal??

Chelsea: screams

[–] Banged_by_bumrah@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

When will the second half of ET start?

[–] sneakypete5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Seems fucked they didn't get the corner, but it was correct by the law and probably karma for trying to get a pen when it went off his head. Ref was working to keep Brighton in. To be fair so was chelsea.

[–] yrugay1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Chelsea has got to be the most entertaining team in the world right now for all the good and bad reasons lol

[–] Odawg10@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That shit Milner pulled against Broja was fucked up. Could’ve seriously injured him and referees just continue to ignore it. If any one has a replay I’d love to see it again, broja nearly folded half

[–] rossco9@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How the hell did Caicedo stay on the pitch?

[–] wingedtwat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

For all you idiots who refuse to learn the law of the game, Pawson's initial decision was a penalty. VAR saw it was a clear and obvious error hence they told him to check the monitor as VAR cannot make decisions themselves. Pawson checks and sees its not a penalty. Play restarts with a drop ball for the keeper as per the rules of VAR reviews.

[–] Nokaah97@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Finally a good use of VAR

[–] Ryuzakku@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Chelsea is going to have to find some midfielders to put on their bench for yellow card management purposes.

[–] koreajd@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This ref lost it and him pointing to the spot incorrectly goes to show how rattled he really was. Like holy shit he almost just gave an incorrect penalty call that was cleared by Var, didn’t card Caicedo for his tackles (genuinely think he lost count). I’m not even a damn Brighton fan and they’re closer to our “rivals” this year than Chelsea too but wow to get everything just so incorrect is baffling to me. Drop ball?! What?

[–] iamGhostBuzz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Step 1: Complain you don't like 75% of the league refs.

Step 2: Decisions go against your team.

Step 3: Act shocked?

[–] A_Thrilled_Peach@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

For me, the only real controversial call in the game was Caicedo not getting a second yellow for completely studding a Brighton player and going through him from behind a minute before the penalty call.

[–] TheThotWeasel@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

With the injuries, the short turnaround time from Athens, the 11 selected and playing away from home, proud of the boys for staying in the game until the very last minute. RDZ and this team are putting together something special, we go again Wednesday!

[–] Coulstwolf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Has there been a team to get less refereeing decisions than Chelsea? Not talking about the big ones. The 50/50 fouls are literally just never given in Chelsea’s favor. It’s a joke

[–] BafflingMantis7@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Very nice of Colwill to cancel his goal celebration midway despite being his first goal for his boyhood club. Don’t think anyone on Brighton’s side could hold that against him if he instead went full throttle.

Backing-in mid-air and almost break someone's neck is not even a yellow when a clean tackle with a slightest contact to the ankle by the follow through is a straight red. Can't understand this game

[–] top1MIBRfan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

what the fuck were the refs on in the last 10 minutes, absolute carnage

[–] fap4jesus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

why the fuck did var send him to the monitor? clearly hit his head. also went behind for a corner but restarts with a dropkick? the officials are on a different level

[–] epicmarc@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That was way harder fought than it needed to be, especially in a period where we have 3 games in just over a week. Still, hanging in there should be big for developing some of the players' mentality, especially after last week.

[–] cocaine_model@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How did Brighton not get a corner at the end after the VAR review?

Edit: People have explained in the replies how it is the correct call according to the rules, but if the ball clearly goes out immediately and no one had the opportunity to stop it had the foul not been called, I feel like the rule should be to give the corner. (I’m not a Brighton fan either)

[–] deception42@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why wasn't that a corner after the VAR review

[–] ChatSh1t@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

VAR and the field officials were absolutely shocking. I have no idea what the fuck just happened

[–] Follow_The_Lore@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brighton about to get an apology. What an absolutely dog-shit referee.

[–] icestrok@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

All sorts of weird, pen wasn’t given, ok but what happened to the corner ? Didn’t it go out of bounds from Levi’s face.

[–] Zavehi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Another PGMOL masterclass

[–] EcoSoco@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Another great advertisement for the quality of referees in England

[–] Apache313@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bruh how they gonna give a drop ball and not a corner? No guarantee for sure but to rob them even of a chance?
