I don’t understand because he initially waived play on and then as soon as he plays the ball he calls it???

Oh, Hooper's fucked it
I wonder if Simon Hooper has been involved in any other controversial Spurs games.
I though City were bribing the refs
PGMOL finding new ways to be controversial each week. This is completely absurd when they’re supposed to let play go on and pull it back later if advantages/benefits of doubt don’t work.
This is after an initial signal lol.
Even city aren't immune to shit refereeing
There’s some serious bullshit going on with referees right now
So he actually gives the advantage, but when Haaland manages to find Graelish through on goal he pulls it back??
Even Anthony Taylor looked perplexed
He probably gets tackled for a red card but still absolutely terrible from the ref
The absolute madman
There's been some absolutely shit decisions this season, but this may genuinely be the worst one, he fucking signed for advantage and then brought it back after the pass????? AND HE BOOKED HAALAND FOR COMPLAINING HAHAHAHAHAHA
They come up with a new way to be more incompetent every week.
That's a fucking disgraceful call. He even starts to play advantage, but then is like 'oh no that's a bit much of an advantage'.
Unlucky decision, but it is pretty obvious what happened here. Hooper plays advantage initially, sees that the advantage isn't a strong one because Haaland is heading backwards and is off balance so he blows it just as the ball is being hoofed downfield into a 1 on 4. Unfortunately for him Haaland's ball is remarkable and it springs Grealish. Ultimately it is a split second decision and Hooper is unlucky in that he looks foolish here, but stopping the advantage is probably correct 9 times out of 10 given the City players' positions. He also can't really afford to wait for the result of the ball that Haaland plays because at that point it will have been too late to bring it back. One of those that looks far more dubious than it is. It is a fast paced game and refereeing is hard.
horrible call but it’s City so who cares lmao
Bad call but i have no remorse for city. Get absolutely wrecked 🤣🤣😂
Hooper's decisions always benefit Spurs, but for this particular time, I don't mind.
Ah yes the same Hooper who made blunders in the Liverpool Spurs game earlier in the season. Great idea to bring him back for another big game. Actually scrap that, even the likes of Luton deserve a proper referee. He shouldn't be involved in the game. At this point they have to be doing this on purpose. It is honestly ridiculous. I say this as a Liverpool fan. City were robbed there.
No sympathy for city. Benefitted from So many bad calls like rodri handball v everton.
oh i feel so sorrry for the city cunts, poor them. 115
He didn't signal play on. Play on is signalled by two arms pointing, he had one up. He saw Haaland flying, didn't expect him to get back on his feet, so he blew the whistle and called a foul. So the defenders paused. Grealish is only free because he kept playing despite the whistle being blown. So he should have let play continue, but it wouldn't have been Grealish free on goal if he hadn't blown it dead.
Lol, wtaf
Disappointed nobody tapped that bald head.
That was a legit howler from the ref. Absolute textbook 'play the advantage'.
Gotta feel bad for City though. I'm sure they've heard about about terrible reffing decisions that cost you points - but hearing about it and experiencing it are very different. No wonder they can barely process what's just happened.
The first time a call goes against you is the worst. Especially when you're paying the guy.
And now we know the refs ain’t dirty, they just fucking suck
Check his bet 365
Don't understand what's happened to the officiating of this sport. Game's gone.
No more UAE paydays for Simon Hooper
Love your work Simon Hooper.
“good process”
How does this guy still ref in any division of the football league.
Maybe city have stopped paying the refs now they’re under so much financial scrutiny.
That looks plain and simple Bias to me.
Bro saw Haaland setting it up and thought "no way he makes that, gotta call the foul"
😭
It’s been 5 minutes and I still can’t close my mouth…
I don’t understand how they continue to say that dissent will be punished and then you have something like this
Haaland got a yellow for it.
