Osmand Plus (free, Costs money on PlayStore) - Who needs Google maps anyway?
Termux is essential as well.
But I really can't live without NewPipe.
F-Droid is an installable catalogue of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications for the Android platform. The client makes it easy to browse, install, and keep track of updates on your device.

Me, i still need google maps ๐ although i use gmaps webview (google maps in a webview wrapper). osmand is my default, ive cycled from london to amsterdam using it, it is great. I do sometimes still need integrated train/bus time tables, which i now use magic earth for, except on strike days then its back to gmaps, and also gmaps for checking if the shop is open yet when it isnt on the osm maps

All I can say is I notice many F-Droid apps are a version or more behind project's .apk
releases on GitHub :0
I'm a fan of NewPipe though.
Obtanium (also available on IzzyOnDroid) can be used to updatr an app directly from a GitHub link, or many other sources. Great for apps like Bromite with an out-of-date F-Droid release.
