Meh
Yeah, the only feature that might be worth it that is actually radical are the foldable offerings from Samsung or Google. Otherwise, what's the point? They are just selling us the same crap every year pretty much.
Some things are nice to have, like a brighter screen, a faster refresh rate, and a faster processor... But is it worth over $1,000?? No. I don't think it is.
I mean there is a reason why it’s called Pro. Part of it is that the specs are beefed up, and part of it is that the features are more relevant to specific professional workflows.
Camera captures wider dynamic range. Irrelevant to 8 bit JPG, relevant to 12 bit RAW. irrelevant to h265 long GOP, relevant to ProRes.
I think normal users are getting an excellent deal from regular iPhone. I would only consider Pro if I wanted to take advantage of Pro workflow.
"professional workflows"?
Like what? Which professional? A photographer and/or videographer is going to have a professional, stand-alone camera (or cameras).
Let's break down what this really is, using Apple's own comparison tool: https://www.apple.com/ca/iphone/compare/?modelList=iphone-15,iphone-15-pro
The Pro has 120hz, which is what every single cheaper android phone already has. It is not a pro feature in any way, shape, or form. It's just a standard one for today's market.
the Pro has, an always-on display. Again, see above. This is standard for most phones.
The Pro has a faster processor. This is a 10% speed boost, at best. Maybe that's worth it, but honestly, no it almost certainly isn't...
You get a software 3x zoom option with the Pro. This isn't due to the hardware, it's just a limit Apple created to sell you the pro model.
You get USB 3 speeds on the pro model. It's outrageous that the non-pro doesn't get this. Even the cheapest Android phones have had this for years.
Tl;dr: If you absolutely must have an iPhone, then the pro isn't a bad choice if you want a zippy screen with snappy response time, and a fast way to offload hundreds of large files. If you're brand agnostic, then don't buy either of these. They are both grossly overpriced for what you're getting.
You’ve gotta wait a good 5 generations these days. Still love my 13 pro
11 pro to 15 pro and sure, some things are a tiny bit nicer, not worth the cost though imo
I went from a 12 mini to 15 pro max. Massive improvement in camera, battery, speed, and size. Really enjoying it so far.
Ungrateful person you are.
I went from an 11 Pro to a 15 Pro and I share your feeling that it isn't that big of an upgrade. The photos, especially in low light, aren't that much better. In fact, I even think my 15 Pro camera has a blur problem. A lot of photos are blurry, less sharp than photos taken on my 11 Pro. There are others that report similar issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/16z7fmb/brand_new_iphone_15_pro_blurry_camera/
Video does look better. But recording 30 fps portrait video still shows some stuttering some times.
I had it for 10 days
i upgraded from a xs max to a 15 pro max and i agree. the changes didn’t feel very noticeable. i’ve been keeping up with all the upgrades and i was expecting to feel a massive difference :(
Went from 12 Pro Max to the 15 Pro and I’m loving it. I forgot how much I prefer the smaller phone.
Dm me if you will like to trade an iPhone and Samsung and laptop +1412-960-4501
I went from a 6s to a 12 Pro Max and it felt spectacular. I just got the 15 Plus and it is basically the same phone. Night mode photos are definitely different and the Dynamic Island is cool but other than I don’t see a significant change from the 12 Pro Max to the 15 Plus (I upgraded to the green 15 Plus bc it’s my favorite color, I was going to wait till next year but I couldn’t resist).
I had an iPhone 13, before I got a 15. And honestly… I think the camera on my 13 was better than my 15! (These were the regular iPhone, not pro/pm.) but, then I was like: “Okay… maybe I just need the 15 pro max.” So then after a couple of days, I went back to the Apple store and asked to return my iPhone 15, and just pay some extra cash for the 15 pro max. So I did! Then I set it all up, played around with it… found the action button completely useless. I thought maybe it would be something useful or fun, but it’s not really.. and the cameras? Could be better honestly. For me, I find them not very good.. It goes fuzzy?? I guess? I don’t know.. I tried out 5x zoom.. looked okay. Put my hand in front of it, and then suddenly it just looked like crap. I don’t know if it’s an issue with the 15 pro max.. but my iPhone 13 was clearer, and better! When I take videos.. they’re often grainy, and dark. Camera quality is significantly worse. Personally. I regret this decision.
When I went from 1 to 4 big difference. 4 to 6 another big difference. 6 to X yet another huge difference..but X to my current 13 pro was not a huge difference but certainly noticeable performance wise.
I was upgrading from 6s to 13 mini.. and it the best choice I made.
X to 14 pro was a big jump for me.
I upgraded from 11 PM to 15 PM honestly the only two things I noticed the most are the screen and the sound.
The 14 pro max is Better in my opinion
I'm not an iPhone user but whenever I upgrade phones with Google Pixel it always feels like a huge change, that's probably because of the camera and different AI features that are added. But, I think it's because Google recently learned how to be like everyone else. I miss the imprint fingerprint scanner :( it never missed
The “white colours too strong” sounds like HDR. You can disable it in the settings - I also don’t like that
Phones just don’t have as many things to innovate on as they used to, nowadays it’s becoming more of a slow evolution than a different phone every year like it used to be
The iPhone X all the way to the iPhone 15/Plus are all the same.
Honestly the iPhone X/Xs is so good looking and feels great in the hand. The 11 is nice enough, but the only major difference is the cameras and it's honestly only better on the Pro models, and even then only on the 14 and 15 Pro.
I just recently went from a 12 to a 15 Pro Max. Huge difference you really couldn’t get much different. I love it so far. I’m happy to be back to a larger format and USB-C!!!
I went from iphone 13 to iphone 13. Massive upgrade for my wallet. ✌️
I went from an 11 to a 15 pro and honestly the difference isn’t that big in my opinion. My 11 was worn out and needed to be replaced so I’m happy I bought it but it’s not that much different.
iPhone 12 mini to a 15 Pro. Huge difference for me. Video for me is a big factor, and being able to shoot Log at 4k PR LT is amazing.
Agree! I had a 7 plus and got the 15 and the flashlight is dim and yellow. It’s not a wonderful upgrade the only thing that is great is the battery life is better than my 7!
Photos under good lighting have been more or less the same for 5 years on all brands, so by only looking at photos it's not gonna be a VERY noticeable upgrade
I upgrade every year. Since iPhone 4 with Verizon. But shortly after iPhone 12 Pro Max I noticed that the 13 pro max wasn’t much difference but I upgraded anyways. 14 pro max was a game changer and upgrade. The 159th max is a rebranded 14 pro max with slight improvements. Apple is running out of options in their new iPhone
I got the 15PM and returned it. I didn’t think it looked good. I did not get a happy feeling. I kept my 14PM instead. My husband kept his 15PM, but he’s not really happy with it either.
