It's hards to say who has the moral high ground here, I can see it from both sides but the main problem seems to be that they didn't hash out clear IP rights initially. Now that the business/property is valuable neither party is willing to give an inch of what they feel owed.
It’s always disappointing news when business gets in the way of creativity. Hoping Zedeck can move swiftly onto new writing endeavours where his input is properly valued!
