Well I mean as JerryRigEverything (on YouTube) often says “Glass is glass, and glass breaks.”

  1. get a replacement
  2. use a damn case next time

2023 and people don’t use cases?

[–] Britty51@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Average iPhone user

[–] pan-sobao@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

iPhones aren’t built like Nokias… get a case if you can’t afford the expenses that come with the damages.

It does have a weak casing

[–] No-Business3541@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Well, you learn that glass breaks when dropped. Repair or replace and get a case or don’t drop it again.

Its okai . Adds character 👍

Skill issue.

I dropped my 14 Plus today from Chest Height while paying my Groceries. Nothing did happen because i use a Otterbox Defender.

I will never understand why People think its a good Idea to go Caseless 💀

[–] KevinCox940@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I DON'T use a multi-hundred dollar device without a case for that very reason.

[–] lonerguyhere@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Good for you

[–] itshypetime@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Get applecare+, you can enable it in the settings within 60 days. Wait a week, then get it fixed

[–] Deathskulll99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Normalize plastic phones being bad...

If you just got it a week ago new, it’s not too late to add AppleCare and get it fixed

[–] leo_grachov@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Actually, I have also broken the back glass on my X. Because it looks horrible, I just don’t want to pay like $100000 or whatever to fix it.

[–] Marc_S_G@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you’ve got AppleCare, you can take it in and they’ll swap it for another one for either for either $49 or possibly $99. If you don’t have AppleCare, I’d get a case for it asap.

[–] CBreezy2010@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You go back in time to when you got the phone and buy AppleCare.

AppleCare is like every other insurance on the planet. You pay for it and pray you never need to use it. But when you need to use it, you’re so thankful you have it

If you got it a week ago there is still an option under settings at the top to purchase apple care. Wait 2weeks after purchase and use it. I had a case and glass covers including camera covers before I got the phone. The glass back is for wireless charging. Maybe it doesn’t need to be the whole thing but glass looks sharper. I put all my last 4 phones in Spigen tough armor. It’s a 15-20$ case hardened but still slim and I get their glass screen covers. Haven’t broke a phone yet last one I lose for 24 hours it fell down in between the motor and my seat in side by side it was full of mud and vibrations ate a big divot outta the phone case but cleaned it and used phone for 2 more years.

USE A FREAKING CASE OMFG !!!!!

[–] Solkre@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So the glass back. Is this completely a pathetic choice over aluminum back or does it serve a utility purpose like cell signals?

Given the option I’d buy a normal aluminum back option if I wanted to be caseless.

[–] se777enx3@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I usually buy a case before the phone itself 😂 I’m not rich to be going caseless.

Always use a case. Insurance without the need of a policy. I use a Mous Limitless 5.0 with my 14PM. Took a hard smack on concrete. No damage, except a cracked screen protector.

[–] Jbaez3018@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You have like 60 days from date of sale to purchase AppleCare+ right from your phone settings. Sign up now, then wait like two weeks and bring it to the apple store. Thats what i’d do

[–] wilso850@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Turn off airplane mode idk /s Seriously, like what do you want us to say? You broke your phone, you can get it repaired or ignore it. It’s like people want a magical answer or solution. I don’t get it. Consider AppleCare if this happens to you a lot.

[–] Farrots@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why do they make phones that break the first time you drop them? I’d rather have something the size of a gameboy color than the thinnest possible phone if it didn’t break every time.

[–] TheTraveller_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Buy a Dbrand skin, trust me, those robots will make your phone look better than when you unboxed it.

[–] jeanmichd@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you’re the kind of person prone to drop things, what you need is a case! I always had case on almost all my iPhones since #1 and dropped them 2-3 times. My wife on the opposite is a “dropper”… Her Apple Watch just been replaced due to too many drops and her new phone landed on the ground already several times but the case saved it. So far. Having your 15 fixed is upon you and your wallet. You can still get Apple insurance but if I remember well it doesn’t cover cosmetic damages

[–] Pvt-Snafu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I saw a good slogan on one repair shop called WeFixIt I think "You drop it - we fix it".

Tell them it got stolen and it happened then. Then you tracked it, beat the guy up, and shit your pants running away with it 👍. Play the sob story

[–] Good-Newspaper-5573@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

why do people still use expensive phones without a case? why?
