General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

The real story here is not that Lee Anderson lied that's like having a story that water is wet. The story here is that someone actually managed to get him to apologise for something, that's quite frankly spectacular.

totally agree! And what could make him apologise for something he does on a regular basis? Its possible that the Tory machine has something on him, but perhaps hes trying to play nice in order to get financial funding for what will be one of the more hilarious re election campaigns. Hes seen what happened to Dorries and is now kissing arse

misleading post on x

that seems redundant isn't a misleading post on x just a regular post on x?

I'm sorry I've never heard of X. You have to call it by its proper name, "X, formally Twitter" I'm not going to let him get away with renaming it to an even more stupid name than it already had.
