As titled, would be a great feature to have.

Although I’m not sure if is even in the realm of possibility for pwa.

Seconded, it also happens there is a link to an external community or instance and opening them to wefwef would be time saver.

This could be the deal breaker with an app having control its own redirection. It’s very much a pain but I don’t know what could be done. ios seems to think anything with an @ sign needs an email.

You misunderstood. I mean links like: https://lemmy.world/post/1062361 when I click it from WhatsApp or any other way, it would be nice if I can pop that link to wefwef so I can interact with that post.

Even if it opens to Safari, if wefwef can accept the share action, check the link whether if it’s a lemmy instance then display it accordingly, that would be plenty.

Ah I gotcha. Yep that’s a use case as well. Again I’m not sure if you can do that without an “app” directly requesting permissions / altering default IOS behaviour.

Thanks for the downvote, whomever you may be…

This should be doable with a separate app like Hyperweb which can change safari url handling.

One issue I see is it’s easy to always redirect Reddit.com links to narwhal but Lemmy instances all have separate urls so it would have to update them or let you update them.
