Now THAT was a great Futurama finale

A question

To confirm, the Bender that knew how to fix the sim was from an even more outer simulation, thus proving that the 'main' universe was also a simulation?

They didn't explicitly say it but that would match the theme

Late to the party here, but yeah that was my take as well. As the inner simulation was about to burn planet express down, the professor made a comment about how catastrophic it would be given all the "doomsday" devices he has. I inferred that to mean that if all those doomsday devices went off, the outer simulation would be unable to simulate it, revealing that the "main" simulation was a simulation in itself; so outer bender came to the "main" simulation with the intention of stopping that from happening.

Oh I didn't even consider the doomsday devices, that makes a lot of sense :)

yes, they just didn't catch on or say it

This was a top episode

  • Story about more a sci-fi concept, and it made sense
  • Jokes that landed well
  • Characters not being totally dumb for no reason
  • Good resolution at the ending

Great finale

Good resolution at the ending

In more ways than one! Hah!

Did bender force his way back up or did a new bender work his way down?

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 year ago

I think a new one was sent down, because the simulation (where they were all in the ship watching the star) still had a conscious bender

First episode of this season to hit me in the feels. I kind of felt the whole simulation aspect had been done in a more clever way in Rick and Morty, but overall a very solid episode. What a breath of fresh air after the turd that was episode 9.

Finally a GREAT episode this season! Some of the jokes fell flat and this wasn't a top 5 episode, but it was still really good!

Finally, a Futurama episode that felt like a fucking Futurama episode! If only it had been like this since the initial reboot.

Best episode of the season. Well done to everyone. Loved every bit of it.

Second worst episode I've seen in this season so far (next to Children of a Lesser Bog). Can't stand when they do these alternative animation episodes.

Hell, most of this season has been a disappointment. Dated jokes that fall flat more than they land. This used to be my favorite show but now I'll be surprised if it lasts more than 2-3 seasons before getting canceled again.

This one was really good! For sure my favorite of the season

Just finished watching it. While not as funny as some episodes from previous seasons I enjoyed it. Probably my favorite episode of this season.
