Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The guy who wants to ban Muslims from entering the country is doing better among Muslims than the person who will probably get accused of being a Muslim by a good portion of the country.

Dear reader, when you read OP's posts, take the time to look at the upvote to downvote percentage. This poster is going out of its way to bash Democrats, and while we can't say why that is (thanks mods!!!), we CAN say that there is a concerted effort by Republicans, Russians, right-wing trolls, and other authoritarians to throw this election to Trump to establish authoritarianism here. Keep that in mind as you read these articles from this poster.

Isn't it that we just are not allowed to say they are bots or paid provocateurs? I thought we still were allowed to say they are dishonest, acting in bad faith, and MAGAs cosplaying as leftists.

Give it a try and see if the mods let it stand. That's the only way to be sure. And don't expect consistency. After all, this is a part of the rules:

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Hi there, friend. Don't you think that's an unfair insinuation to make? OP doesn't write the articles, they only post them for discussion. Thank you!

I’m not sure all purpose is a great substitute for universal.

[–] AllPurposeFriar@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't know what that means friend. I'm just here to discuss the articles and totally nothing else. Thank you!

I think you’d really be into Danielle Prune’s politics.

[–] AllPurposeFriar@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Who is that? Something something duopoly btw. Thanks!

In the fifty-six days since this account was created it has made four thousand four hundred and eighty one submissions.

That’s one every eighteen minutes, twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.

*which are 1% of the US population

They make a significant number of voters in critical swing states like Michigan. Biden won certain counties in the 2020 election by a handful of votes. This can make a significant amount of difference in the coming election.

I'm aware, but this particular poster constantly posts these articles with that specific title format to push a very specific reaction.

[–] jhymesba@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (6 children)

And gets downvoted by ridiculous measures, which I'm glad for.

Stein leading Harris among this group, even if very unfortunate, makes sense.

But this ... this does not.

And sure enough, the article explains it,

Trump’s lead over Harris, however, are within the margin of error of the poll

So basically it's all just error and he's likely not really leading.
