The name of the place is Palestine. "Israel" isn't a legitimate state.
Personally I prefer the so-called state of Israel or the Zionist Entity, but quotes get the message across I think.
Wow. AFAIK Colombia has been israel's largest coal supplier, while the next largest suppliers are South Africa (ironically enough) and Russia, so this could be a pretty big deal.

My take is that the medium is covering their asses by quoting every controversial part of the article. As in Petro said it's a "genocide" committed by "Israel". It's a bit weird, but you gotta be extra careful if you are not some pro-Zionist media.
Yeah, I gotta say, I'm against Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, but I'm still confused about why the ~~OP~~ article is clearly using scare quotes for the name of an internationally recognized state.
