General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

It is a starting point. When can we talk about the £1b his family's business has taken from oil companies weeks before he handed out 100 new oil survey licenses. Or the fact his father has many close links in India, yet we are about to take on another shockingly bad trade deal with them.

Well, fuck I’m angry. First because of the ongoing blatant corruption that is at the core of the conservatives politicians in the UK. Then because nothing will be done about this.

"Questioned by Labour MP Catherine McKinnell over why the payment doubles if workers sign up through an agency, and whether he had anything to declare in relation to the government’s childcare reforms, the PM said: “No, all my disclosures are declared in the normal way.”

He did not mention that Ms Murty was an investor in Koru Kids, one of six private childcare agencies consulted on the scheme as part of the government’s childcare overhaul."

Hahaha. We had the same circus happening during the last GE and they still got re-elected. Now we essentially have a conservative leading Labour. That's probably why he will win. But I doubt making things better for labourers is part of his true agenda.
