I was about to touch some grass but thankfully Lemmy saved me.
TIFU
Welcome to TIFU.
This community will stand as a tribute to the fuck up in all of us. We all do something stupid from time to time, this is your place to share and laugh about it with folks on the internet!
Da Rules:
- Use proper formatting
A. All titles must start with TIFU.
B. All posts must have a TL;DR at the end. Some of us are too lazy to read your story, sorry.
C. Use the NFSW Tag, if a Post isn't Appropriate in General but still follows the rules. (Sex stories and etc.)
-
Posts must be about you.
-
Must be your fault.
-
A few things that aren't allowed.
A. No Rape/minors/bestiality. No death of animals. No glorification of major crimes.
B. Illegal activities that you glorify or giving advice on how to do something illegal.
-
Must be actual fuckups No humblebrags or stories that have zero consequences and don't go anywhere. Eg "TIFU by sexy sex". Moderator discretion.
-
Be civil and don't be disruptive No racism/bigotry/homophobia/transphobia. No personal attacks on other users, no name-calling. No low-effort "this didn't happen" type comments.
-
No Self Promotion No making posts with the express purpose of promoting your business/video game/porn career. Even if not mentioned within the text of the post, alluding to links on your profile is not allowed. This covers implying you will set up a stream/public link/onlyfans in the future, having set up one in the past, or anything along the lines of "upvote this comment if you want me to do this." These examples are by no means comprehensive, just don't self promote.
-
Mod Discretion Mods have the right to supersede any rule and make removals as we see fit, which may or may not be the rules listed in this community.
You should still touch grass. It feels good 😊
well, if i was suddenly productive at work, my employer would be suspicious
With reddit shutting down I imagined all the books I was finally going to read, that attic was getting organized, and I was going to start a new hobby....and here I am.
The trouble with reading books is it generally requires a lot of concentration to follow the plot.... And I'm mostly trying to relax and usually watch or listen to something in the background while browsing social media, so while I do read a lot of text on reddit/lemmy, those two activities aren't easily switchable for me.
The trouble with reading books is my libby app keeps kicking me off my library account and i can never remember the pin...
I was going to play some video games yesterday but instead watched subs shut down all day while exploring lemmy. I need help.
How am I supposed to kill time during commute ?
With a knife
I decoded to start my own community so thats a cool time suck
yeah i told myself I'm gonna get off social media and here i am...
if its any consolation, the relatively low volume helps limit my engagement here. I refresh the page, recognise most of the posts, and then realise i need to get off social media.
Well from what I'm seeing as long as we don't turn it into reddit we can enjoy a much healthier one, like working out vs doing meth.
I like Lemmy, but I feel like a better analogy might be doing weed instead of meth.
Well I did both weed and working out and I can't say weed is necessarily healthy. I'm such much healthier working out and I used to be a constant daily stoner for 13 years lol. For me at least the experience is closer to a workout than doing any kind of drug as I'm actually socializing and interacting instead of doomscrolling. The lemmy communities have been chiller than a stoner on the beach lol!
ah, fair. I get your point - I still feel like Lemmy draws me in when I could be doing things in real life, and that will only get worse as communities grow and get more active. It's definitely a more positive place though.
What are we supposed to do, go "outside"?
I mean. You’re welcome to !outside@lemmy.world
Do y'all have any of that "grass" stuff I'm hearing so much about? Apparently it's fantastic for touching.
I'm allergic. Not so wonderful.
Just gotta get you some of that hypoallergenic grass. Lol
Lol it's OK, out here it's more reasonable to xeroscape anyway. Gonna go touch gravel.
I mean... I do. Every single day... animals to feed, plants to care for. Shit to do.
But the sun… it burns…
That's a direct quote from every Lemmy user.
Same here but I am not complaining. My semester is ending tomorrow so I have plenty of free time
