I'm South African, so I really, really wanted Nigeria to win against England of all teams. Haven't felt that tense about a penalty shootout in ages, was borderline painful.

It sucks that Nigeria are out and sure they weren't the most technical and offensive team in the tournament, but man they showed great commitment and I promise you African nations are going to be watching more of their women's teams now. Proud of all of them, especially Ajibade who was just incredibly dynamic and determined the whole match.

Nigeria were amazing, holding England to a draw and even dominating possession (41% - 39%) and attempts on goal (18-12). Hope they do better next time.

41% - 39%

Who had possession the other 20% of the time!?

'Contested'. Also, the possession has since been updated to 44-40 in England's favour.

I feel like England going down to 10 thew off Nigerias rhythm. The announcers kept talking about them having the extra player, but in the box it was always one or two green shirts surrounded by 6 white shirts. Lauren James going out for 2 games (I think?) is also a damn shame. I have no idea what she was doing there.

Lauren was so stupid there. Completely unprofessional and such a shame.

Benefit is that she's still so young and that gives her plenty of time to make benefit of such a valuable learning experience.
