amcargobikes/amladcykler Ultimate Harmony cargo e-bike review

I've had my cargo bike for about six months now. I thought I'd write a review of it, because (1) I love it, and (2) I had loads of questions before buying it, and thought I could help future cargo bike buyers.

Be careful with amcargobikes/amladcykler. The bikes are cheap Chinese imports and NOT danish build nor designed. The bikes were found to have poor safety features such as uneven breaking and rusting support beams and unstable steering. Poor durability and poor customer service. They were revealed to be a scam here in Denmark in a big TV program but it seems like they have moved to the uk marked now. So watch out.

Edit: here's an AI summary of the article

The article uncovers a troubling narrative surrounding the safety and quality of cargo bikes manufactured by AM Ladcykler. Despite being marketed as embodying Danish craftsmanship, it's revealed that these bikes are actually sourced from China, raising questions about the integrity of their production standards.

Customers have recounted harrowing experiences while using these cargo bikes, with reports of accidents resulting from brake failures and instability. These incidents are particularly alarming given that many involve the transportation of children, underscoring the urgency of addressing these safety concerns. In some instances, the bikes have toppled over, causing injuries to both riders and passengers.

One customer, Tim Gram, recounts a terrifying incident where his wife sustained injuries after the bike toppled over while carrying their 8-month-old son and niece. The severity of the accident underscores the potential dangers associated with these bikes.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, expert testing has confirmed significant brake problems with the bikes, rendering them unsafe for use. Moreover, former employees of AM Ladcykler have come forward, revealing additional quality issues such as rapid rusting of bike frames.

For instance, Laila Nielsen, a day-care provider, recounts how her bike began rusting after just a short period of use, highlighting the subpar quality of materials used in production. Such revelations cast doubt on the company's claims of offering high-quality, Danish-built bikes.

In response to mounting criticism, AM Ladcykler's director has sought to downplay the severity of the issues, attributing them to competition within the industry. However, this explanation fails to assuage concerns raised by both consumers and regulatory authorities.

The transport minister has called for stricter regulations to ensure consumer safety, particularly in light of discrepancies discovered in safety tests conducted on these bikes. The reliance on Chinese manufacturers for production further complicates matters, raising doubts about the consistency and reliability of safety standards.

As the debate surrounding the safety and quality of AM Ladcykler cargo bikes intensifies, there is a growing consensus that urgent action is needed to address these concerns and prevent further harm to consumers.
