This is 99% me venting and 1% asking for a book suggestion to counter this rage. Tldr at bottom.
I just finished this book and it is fucking bullshit. WTF what is that ending. Like just an hour ago I was exited about the ending but then he just ruined it. Expect for the ending I really liked the story, I loved the character development although it was a bit all over the place but then that ENDING AHHHH. This story had sooo much potential but then he ruined it. And what even was the purpose of Henry and who even was stalking Mariana???? I have soo many goddam questions. This could have been such a good story but he had to ruin it. I am pretty new to reading novels soo almost any kind of story facinates me but not this one.
Anyways I have vented enough. I am pretty new to reading novels. I would say the best I have read is a man called ove and it also was a silent painter by this author but after finishing this book I just realised that book had pretty much the same problem. It was just soo new to me that I liked it.
Can someone suggest an actuall book any genre is fine by me and if you have a long list then I loved the Greek mythology aspect of this thing and I love a good murder (obviously in a fictional scenario). Thanks for reading this far. I have a tendency to strech my messages as much as I can sooo sorry.
Tldr: hate maiden suggest good book. Much appreciated thank you.
oooooh ok ok wow see I'm about a few chapters into the book rn and was really looking forward to completing it ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ ughhhhhhhhhh why why whyyyyyy it's started off pretty good too I was looking forward to where the story was gonna gooo. One thing I absolutely HATE are disappointing bad endings- I enjoyed The Silent Patient so I was looking forward to finishing this as well ๐ but if the ending is as bad as you say I think I'll just spoil it for myself and leave it uncompleted,, I don't want to put myself through that kind of emotional dissatisfaction again ๐ญ๐ญ
Normally I'd say stick with it as your experience may be different, but in this case hating the ending is so common you may as well take a look at it. If you're not as bothered, you can go back and read the rest to see how it got there.
