Look, I know people will hate this, I'm ready for it.

VAR has been crap this year no doubt about it I think almost every team has been at the recieving end of a bad decision (wolves seemingly more than anyone) so something needs to change. Here is my thoughts

  1. Get rid of the VAR referees, they're to disconnected from the game and any audio only gets released weeks after and only for controversial decisions, it's all very cloak and dagger. I would only keep the video assistant in control of the different cameras available of any incident.

  2. Not every decision is reviewed, no goal can be properly celebrated, every tackle is reviewed adding rediculous delays and times onto the game contributing to injuries. Instead, each team has a set number of challenges like in tennis where you can ask for something to be reviewed. In that case at the next opportunity the referee gets called to the monitor and with of the sole video assistant left is shown the moment again from different angles. This removes the bias that when you get called to the monitor you have to change your decision and it's also not tainted by VAR officials pausing it on the worst frames etc.

  3. If when reviewing the referee take more than 2 minutes to review them it isn't clear and obvious and the infield decision stands

  4. Get automatic offsides decisions in the game man, it isn't hard

How about just give the on-field referee one more look at it, no VAR officials just someone to replay it. Let the on-field ref decide

That's basically what I was suggesting
