I purchased a new iPhone with an eSIM. I wiped my iPhone 13 and sent it in without removing the physical SIM card. I was later notified by Apple that the shipment was stolen. Only the empty box arrived.

My question is this. Can the theft of my SIM card lead to ID theft or hacking?

Your old sim will be deactivated when you activated e sim on your new phone. Worst they can do now is put the old sim in another phone and get your phone number (but do nothing with it)

That’s a relief.
