I'm not able to find a Kbin magazine I created on Lemmy. I've tried all the tricks, e.g. to visit https://lemmy.world/c/japonic@kbin.social , to search to t (kbin.social)

I'm not able to find a Kbin magazine I created on Lemmy. I've tried all the tricks, e.g. to visit https://lemmy.world/c/japonic@kbin.social, to search to the full URL (https://kbin.social/m/japonic) on Lemmy, to search for "!japonic@kbin.social", etc.

All I get is a 404 or an empty search. What determines whether a Kbin magazine gets federated to Lemmy?

I figured it might just be a waiting game, but newer magazines seem to get federated.

How are you searching? I was able to search for it just fine on lemmy.world by going to the magnifying glass in the top right (by your username) and searching https://kbin.social/m/japonic.

Thanks for checking. I was searching on mobile and tried on different Lemmy instances, all the different ways detailed in my post above. I wonder if just sharing the link here (on an already federated magazine) helped or if you searching as a user helped get it to show up (I admit I don't have a Lemmy account).

Weird in any case, but glad it's working now, thank you!

Ah-ha! If you don't have an account, that's why. An actual person with an account needs to search. I'm not sure why that is.
