So is that the spin now? Labour has failed because it didn't win 500 seats?

And I say this as someone disgusted by Starmer's policy on Gaza. But let's face it, it's painfully evident that it's not the most important issue for most voters.

Labour had fewer votes in this election than in either of the last two, that's what Gaza's "cost" was to them.
