Same here except I use a 6600 xt, which isn’t anywhere near as good as your GPU. I’m running medium settings at 4k and it’s fine. It even runs on the Steam Deck, although the graphics are not so good on there. Still, it’s playable and I will probably play there when it’s convenient.

IMO, ultra settings are for people with new, high end hardware and to future proof a game for at least a couple years. It’s not for people running a 2-3 year old rig with a 1080p GPU. Medium and high settings are generally good. Ultra is just like bonus mode for hardcore enthusiasts.

So maybe don’t do it at all instead of taking it out on people who didn’t do anything wrong?

Fuck that. We don’t need some Tesla version of that Kia challenge shit. I happen to drive a Tesla that I bought when Elon was still cool. I would never buy another thing from him (for a variety of reasons, many of them related to the car), but I’m still stuck with what I have because it’s a bad financial decision for me to change the car now. He already has my money and it pisses me off every day. The last thing I need is some anarchist, vigilante twat slashing my tires to “teach me a lesson”. Go fuck up Elon’s shit instead of taking it out on people who just might feel the same way about him as you do.

He’s my fun little conspiracy theory. If I could send the CIA to do my bidding, I would have punished him by manipulating him into buying twitter. You can’t nationalize SpaceX because it would signal the failure of privatized space exploration, but you can’t have that idiot out there as a walking national security disaster looking for a place to happen. The only option if he can’t be controlled is to get him out of the way until he retires or another private competitor can become the favorite. Twitter cost him a ton of money and his reputation, exposed him as a fool, and keeps him busy with unimportant bullshit. Everyone just shrugs it off as Elon being Elon. It’s really perfect.

The feature where you can ask a ChatGPT-like bot about the substance of a meeting is sort of cool. As someone with ADHD, it could be useful. The Zoom IQ thing that rates presentation skills is creepy, although I guess it could be interesting to people making sales calls. Still, I don't think I would want these in my videoconferencing app and I would not be comfortable if someone else enabled it for me.

That new Journal app looks pretty cool.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Cyberpunk. As long as they make a sequel in Unreal it's all good. I'm not ready for it to end.

Same. I remember someone telling me about a group of people developing an operating system and giving it away for free because they didn’t like Windows. The idea seemed absolutely wild. It was enough to pique my interest so I bought a box with RedHat 5.2 discs and a book.

Agreed. This poll is hard to believe. There was another one last week saying a majority agreed with the indictment. There’s lies, dammed lies, and polls.

Take this with a grain of salt. A pollster can come up with any results they want if they ask the question carefully.

This is almost certainly something put out by Trump’s team to manipulate public opinion. It’s bullshit and not worth anyone’s energy.

I do. I’ve used it for many years - back to when it was OpenOffice and I even dabbled with StarOffice before that. It’s not as good as MS Office but it does the job. I also use Office 365 and G Suite occasionally. It’s definitely a good thing that we have LibreOffice.

Does it really matter? I feel like as long as we have a good community here or somewhere else in the fediverse, what Reddit does or does not do is irrelevant. The main problem was we didn’t like their policies and there wasn’t anywhere else to go with a decent sized community.

I almost wonder if the whole thing was a deliberate move to make some of us leave. They view us as negative value users.
