Waterfox is integrating Tree-Style Tabs as a vertical tabs solution, complete with image tab previews and optimizations for tabs outside the scrolling.

I haven't used Waterfox but didnt realize they're independent again. Maybe I'll give it a try, but I'm liking LibreWolf.

Waterfox was sold to an advertising company in 2019. However, the founder took back over in 2023.

Still don't get the stigma by association... as long as there's no evidence of changes we'll be fine

After ublock origin and dark reader, it's definitely one of the best extensions out there, cool to see it getting further support.

That's amazing! I happen to use both waterfox and tree style tabs already, like a dream cone true.

First time I'm hearing about Waterfox, but it's strange they're leaving in the regular tabs. I hope they add the option to remove them instead of having to use custom CSS like in FF.

I wonder if it allows auto hiding? If so it would be perfect!

It would minimise until I move the curser to the left, which then it would pop out. If the curser leaves the tab area it would minimise itself. It used to be a function once upon a time before Firefox changed how extensions work.

I couldn't get used to pressing a hotkey/button to hide/unhide it when the current version came out. I did find some custom scripts that might work from some casual searching though.

The Waterfox blog post doesn't mention it, and you'd need to change userChrome.css to do that atm. Personally I use TreeStyleTab as my primary tab view.
