The company believes that AI can be used to automate many tasks that are done by humans, like game development, testing, and localization. This could free up game developers to focus on more creative work

This honestly doesn’t sound too bad, sounds like it’ll be used for things like copilot in visual studio to help actual development. As long as AI stays out of creative processes and is used as a tool the same way spell check is in word it could be a net good thing.

and localization

Microsoft already used ai to do the localization of the latest dlc for age of empires 4, and almost all the negative reviews are due to the translation, it's so bad it's even worse than google translate. If a single pair of humans eyes would have see that they would know it was bad. it's not just a bad translation, it's literally broken and missing numbers and text.

Sometimes leaving the work to an AI doesn't yield the best results.

The company can believe what they want, i think, based on their own results, that they are wrong.

also, "This could free up game developers to focus on more creative work" devs don't work on localization or testings, those are always different teams, just hire some QA company. This is literally a multi billion company trying to save some dollars.

At least try the stuff that microsoft is doing with AI before judging
