Do I tell them and risk being openly mocked by a group of kids, or do I risk one of them knocking my five year old off the climbing frame?

I went with the former. They took it well. Dignity in tact.

I don't know how Flop does it. Day in day out he gets up, spends his entire day running around after his whining giant toddler and never moans or complains.

What a hero.

Hey dads. How's your day/week/existence going?

My wife, spontaneously (actually to procrastinate), decided to start sorting through our thousands of saved but unsorted phone pictures of the kids etcetera. Kinda magical to revisit some forgotten moments through the years.

Will make it a hell of a lot easier when I finally get round to picking a handful to send to my own parents. (Specifically curated so that when my mum ends up 'accidentally' putting another one on Facebook I don't have to go too nuclear. Just regular firebombing.)

We're 5.5 years into this now, and whilst we had a pretty solid routine when it was just the three of us, when number 2 arrived the entire routine went to poop and yeah, here we are.

My eldest is 5, and for the most part (tonight aside) she's pretty good at going to sleep. All of her cousins who are younger have a small TV in their room, or are allowed a tablet whilst going to bed.

I personally think she's too young. I was 10-11 when I first got a TV in my room, and that was restricted to 4 channels that really didn't have much to engage an 11 year old at 8pm.

So yeah. Thoughts?

Well, you made it. Welcome to Friday (okay this is going live on Thursday night but you get the point). How has your week been, what have you got planned for the weekend and most importantly, how are you going to survive a weekend with a full house all day?

58

Yes. My soon-to-be-toddler is awake even earlier than normal, and as such I can confirm that Ceebies technically starts broadcasting at 05:30.

Olivia Colman doing the lord's work this early.

Since I became a father some 5.5 years ago, I've realised that I've rather quickly turned into the sort of person who tells my children that 'silly games, silly prizes' and 'want doesn't mean get'.

I'm not sure I can pinpoint the exact moment this change occurred, but it did, and now I guess I'm stuck in this hell. The question is, am I stuck in it on my own, or are there more of us?

My daughter goes back to school on Tuesday, and as much as it's been nice having her around the house, I can't wait.

Watching The Fashion Badge, Duggee is described as ahead of the times in his homemade fashion and is clearly shown wearing 1950s/1960s gear as part of a decade on decade montage that also covers the 1980s. Given the lifespan of most dogs I’m splitting the difference been seventy years old and functionally immortal.

Okay okay. We all love our children. They're an endless source of fun and joy and all that good stuff.....but they can also be absolute nightmares.

Consider this thread your safe space to vent; to moan about your usually angelic children, free from judgement and you know, shame.

So, how have your kids ruined your day this week?

Good morning Dads.

What's on your mind this weekend? Do you have any plans, with or without the kids? Have you finally admitted defeat and decided that you do in fact have to get someone in to clean the oven? Talk about it all, right here.

My vote is going straight to Eric Taylor from the deeply underappreciated Friday Night Lights. He'll give you a shoulder to cry on, he'll kick your ass (metaphorically) if you need it but no matter what, he'll always be there for you.

Who's your favourite Dad on Tele?

65

Yup, despite my best efforts we are approaching August with great speed. A few more months and we'll be driving straight into the Christmas period and there's not much any of us can do to stop it...

Anyway. It's 6am. I got woken up by a car horn in the pub carpark behind me, at 4am; on one of the only two days a week where I don't have to get up at 4:30am for work...so I'm feeling pretty great right now.

How are you? Any plans for what remains of the weekend?

I think the classic answers are likely to be Bluee and Duggee, with maybe a special shout-out to an old classic like Ballamory. However, for my money I don't think you can top the masterpiece that Is.....

Waffle the Wonder Dog. Great theme tune, adorable kids, occasionally funny neighbour and parents who don't have it so together that you feel bad about yourself, perfect.

What about you?

*The theme tune to Charlie and Lola is also top-tier

Morning all. How are we doing?

After returning from holiday on Friday we spent yesterday indoors. Lots of washing, lots of TV and a fair bit of face painting. Today? Well it's a Sunday so naturally I've got a kids party to attend. Can't wait for that. I think I've just hit double digits for the year.

What about you? How are you feeling? Got any plans? Lets talk!

"Your the best daddy in the world. I love you daddy love M**a"

Had a pretty rubbish day, but this made it feel a tiny bit better.

How are we doing Dad's?

I've finally made the weekend and I'm now going to pretend to be a Dad who's got it together, when infact I've got no idea what I'm doing..

Anyway, what are you're plans for the weekend and more importantly, how are you feeling?

My youngest (16 months) has started giving hugs on command. The best part, when he leans in he makes the 'ahhhhhhh' noise.

And my eldest (five) had sports day on Tuesday and did absolutely incredible.

What about you and yours?

72

I'm very proud of her. Definitely won't be framing this one though.

Disgusting? Absolutely.

Essential? Absolutely.
