You are correct that it was an analogy for the election, but the point the analogy is trying to illustrate is precisely that if you actually and for real were faced with this situation and decision (assuming you love your parents, if not please substitute for the 2 living beings you love the most), that you would reject the decision and take any number of alternative actions that are available to you before allowing a loved one to be killed. Hell, a bunch of people would fight to the death in a situation like this.

The previous realization would then illustrate the hypocrisy behind expecting people to behave in a strictly utilitarian sense when you yourself would not when it involves your loved ones.

C'mon guys, can't you spin up the "somehow, blame Russia" machine for this like last time?

Running around with pitchforks looking for minorities to blame is a really bad look, and it ultimately is just you showing your blue MAGA ass.

You go girl! Blame them dumbass voters and learn absolutely nothing from this.

Are you at least aware enough to understand why they refer to guys like yourself as blue MAGA?

It must be them ruskies! And the brainless, easily brainwashed young people's fault! Seriously some of you need stop being tools and get a grip

Imagine thinking anything would have been different had a Democrat been at the helm when 9/11 happened. Trying to ridicule people of conscience will regularly not go how you expect.

It is certainly more refreshing than the constant brain-rot of liberals calling everything they don't like a "russian asset".

As to the op, both mainstream political parties are right wing, but it is right on the money

You won't get an answer, these people's script is they have enormous latitude in calling people names, moving goalposts, and generally as much punching left as they can muster, but under absolutely no circumstance can they say -in any way, shape or form- that they won't vote for the blue team.

Funny, I feel the exact same way, except that I think it's the "if Biden dies and the Democrats resurrect and nominate Hitler, you still have to vote for them. You'd rather have Trump?" posters that are the paid actors. Oh no, could RuSSiAn bOt faRms be covering all sides of the argument? how are we ever going to tell them apart from genuine conversation?

Ironically, it is you who can't realize that you and your ilk, together with the republicans, are what's preventing real progress.

Or because the amount of evidence of all alien spacecraft all through human history is and has always been: zero.

It's bewildering to me how this continues to be an issue only in the US, the rest of the world figured out this problem around 2010, and I'm not kidding. It's like you guys are still arguing about Beta vs VHS in 2023
