It really is. I moved here from a rural town in the Derbyshire Dales - population less than 4k. Where I currently live the town is much larger and so busy, almost 55k and surrounded by industry and the M40. I go on the canal to escape and feel like I'm back in nature again.

Things are definitely a bit wonky. Between federation issues and the fact that the language settings are so convoluted I'm surprised anyone is seeing anything!
Lovely pictures! For what itβs worth I think thatβs an issue across the board with Lemmy, Iβve seen a lot of sideways pictures. I embedded mine with external hosting links rather than uploading the picture to reduce server load and they stayed the correct way.
Glad to help :)
There's two settings, one for 'Interface Language' and one for 'Languages' underneath. I think Interface Language needs setting to 'Browser Default'. Underneath is the Languages list. You should be able to click on Undetermined, then scroll down to English, hold down Ctrl and click that too. If there are any other languages that you want to see, hold down Ctrl and click those as well - for example selecting German should allow you to see posts/comments which have been written in German. Each time you select one, it should turn blue. Then scroll down and click Save - above the Delete Account button
Finally. Utter scum.
Just seen your post from feddit.uk :) I do agree though, I have an account on feddit and on lemmy.world and when I view the same communities from both accounts I see a totally different number of comments or no comments at all / some posts don't show up / whatever. There's definitely some issues going on here and there.
It's back now! :)
Hi Dave. I think this community is a great idea. I'm not a boater myself but I currently live in Cherwell Disctrict where the Oxford Canal flows, as you saw from the pictures I shared. :) I go for a walk along the canal almost daily and I love seeing all the boats and sometimes chatting with people along the way or helping them at the lock. There are some long term moorings where people have set up such unique displays to see along the path, I'll ask if I can take photos some time.
Just another nail in their coffin. Wankers, the lot of βem.
I slipped a disc in my spine a couple of weeks ago and my mobility is still limited and the pain is still bad. Our downstairs neighbour doesn't seem to understand the concept of doorstops and instead he just slams his doors all day over and over again, maybe he's pissed off at me because I stomped on the floor when he was playing loud music at midnight. On top of that there's the bloke next door who has one of the most vile sounding smokers coughs I've ever heard, gets up for work at 4am and sounds like he's wretching, lovely to be woken up by that. Plus the whole building constantly stinks of weed from another downstairs neighbour. Oh and we're on the top floor so it's been a million degrees. Urgh I can't wait to not live in a block of flats anymore...but oh wait mortgage rates are fucked so no house for us yet - if ever. This thread is a good idea, thank you. I was able to talk about happy and positive things in this thread, and then come here and have a good moan.
