If community appointed mods are reinstated, and API pricing is set at an actual reasonable rate, I would go back. Punish bad behaviour, reward good behaviour - otherwise what is the point of strikes/protests in the first place?

The point of this particular protest was to show Reddit that We The People are the ones generating content, and therefore revenue, and that means we deserve to be respected and valued appropriately. This protest is a lesson on greed both for the Reddit owners and the wider user base who aren’t as aware or invested as those protesting.

I think the biggest impact that the protest has had was to reveal Reddit’s true colours, and to therefore split the user base into two groups: the people that give a shit, and those that don’t.

IMO, it’s the people that give a shit that made Reddit a good place to be in the first place and created the attraction for everyone else. I also have a feeling that the GivvaShittas^tm^ are the bunch that are moving to the Fediverse en-masse and I’m happy to be coming with them.

Wow this book appears to divide opinion! The first review in that link absolutely slams it at length, but then others are claiming it to be the best thing ever written.

Butter straight to marmite is a societal norm. Contaminating the butter with marmite is a capital offence.

This sort of stuff was always gonna happen early on. As things calm and the wider community settles into some norms we’ll see less of it.

I feel that pain - my toilet sprang a leak half way through making pizzas! Gonna be fun putting it back together tomorrow.
