Iirc, DXVK translates DirectX API calls to Vulkan calls, meaning the original game renders to Vulkan in the end. With this, no translation will be needed which should result in slightly better performance and more likely, much better compatibility.

"What is every number each under 1 sextillion?" bouta buy me a little time

Specifically, the situation with Guyana - I've heard people say they're protecting them from foreign exploitation, and I've heard people say that they're conducting what ultimately amounts to imperialism. Is either view true, or is there more to it?

My writing instructor always tells us to use the grammar checking in Word and there's the occasional formatting or compatibility issue. Nothing that I haven't been able to get through but it has resulted in a couple marks every here and there

Even once? Yeah, just that once though. It was on like a dell latitude from 2010 and it wasn't a permanent solution either

I've had good experiences at thrift stores, especially local ones. While they're definitely filled with basic stuff like t-shirts, I've found plenty of cool stuff too. They're not one-stop shops for sure though, you'd wanna do a few stops at a couple to get a really diverse wardrobe. I'm also the kind of person to wander and look at other stuff in thrift stores too, I've found some cool historical stuff about my area in them.

As far as the organizations behind them go, I'd generally try to avoid chains like Goodwill or Salvation Army because they've done (and probably are still doing) some sucky stuff, if I remember right Salvation Army donates/d to anti-LGBT groups and Goodwill exploits disabled people, but I have no sources on hand so take it as you will.

As another commenter suggested, you should probably use Linux Mint for that purpose, since Mint is far easier to use, plus Tails resets itself upon shutdown so you'd need an external drive for permanent storage.

If you absolutely must stay on Windows, there's a project called Atlas OS that tries to strip a Windows installation of its telemetry and bloat, however there are privacy concerns with that, like up until a little while ago it actually disabled Windows Defender by default

A few comments down threw some sense into the mix saying it sounds like astroturfing is at least playing some role, and someone linked a very interesting web archive link: Reddit admins accidentally reveal "Eglin Air Force base as the most "Reddit addicted city", from 2013. (and here's a link to the web archive page if the original reddit post goes missing)

I found this paper that a Redditor said was funded by Eglin which shows how to influence conversations online and control majority opinion, but keep in mind I haven't read the paper nor looked any deeper into the authors so take it with a grain of salt, unless you wanna look further.

Edit: apparently the official explanation is that Eglin is where military VPN traffic goes through, so everyone browsing Reddit on military networks does through Eglin. Kinda sus but seems reasonable imo
