I refused to buy Apple products for 15 years. Recently I grabbed a whole set of them and honestly, there's only one thing I can say. It just fucking works.

I've been using Linux/Windows for the better part of two decades and I'm just at a point where I don't care to tinker anymore unless I have to, I just wanna have stuff that works especially when it's related to work stuff. Apple stuff is just reliable in that sense, oh my Android phone decided to crash on itself? Yeah my iPhone has had 0 crashes all year I've owned it. My M2 Macbook Air has superior battery life and portability at a more reasonable price than pretty much any competitor on the market?

Yes certain Apple things are beyond stupid expensive, Hello Apple TV 4K 128gb being £180 on launch?

But when I want something to work and not have to think about it, the apple stuff fits that need.

What would you describe as large?

The company I work for is a multinational at this point and exclusively uses Google for Mail/Docs. We have I think 600 stores now across 12 countries.

$29k before tax and manager fees as an actor for 6 months of work really does not seem worth it, how on earth is that possible?

Usenet guy here so no real ratio, my downloads for this month so far are:

The total is since end of Feb iirc.

That's how I felt about it myself, they knocked it out of the park.

I’m already locked in, I have to use google products daily for work as my work email and drive is all done through google. There’s no moving off that unless I leave my job and even then there’s no guarantee.

Fuck man, this blows.

This episode is one of the best episodes in the modern era of Trek, it's lighthearted it's funny it celebrates Trek and it's done so tastefully that I genuinely have nothing bad to say about it. It reminds me of Trials and Tribble-ations.

Plus that line at the end where they tell Una ad astra per aspera and that's why boimler joined Starfleet is just the right kind of emotions.

Honestly, they smashed it in this episode and ofc the 2d animated intro was chefs kiss.

The scene while nonsensical in terms of what we've established in Trek Science is at least visually cool and fun.

I'll check out the season when it airs, I just hope it is better than I expect.

I had an Aya Neo 2 at work the other day so here's my brief take on it from an experience perspective.

All the other hand held PC's that aren't the steamdeck are just that, hand held PC's. When you reset or reinstall windows you have no drivers have to plug in a keyboard and mouse to get a driver package of about 19 different things before it's usable then you need to install Aya Neo Space and have that auto launch at startup so that you somewhat get a hand held console experience.

The deck by contrast is just a single recovery image that is good to go and just works.

So I'd say if you want something that just works well buy a steamdeck while it may have less games than the others it truly is a pick up and play experience, if you want to tinker look into the others however I'd suggest you avoid the Ally due to the melting SD card issue for now.

It's the quality of service that they offer, I don't mind paying £60-70 a month for all my tv/movies but when the services don't even work well, have terrible experiences and constant caveats to using them it's just not worth it. Go spend the money on a self-hosted solution for a better experience and be done with it. It's not exactly cheaper either it's just less of a headache.
