Shot himself in the back of the head he did.

Twice!

And his ghost was still so ashamed it threw the corpse out the window.

Death by suicide seems to be Russia’s verification process ✅

[–] Lewo@lemmy.world 49 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

Do you guys ever have anything other to say than "haha window" and "lol shot himself 5 times"? Every time there's an article like this, the comments are all the same exact shit, never an original thought in sight.

As for the guy himself, Murz was a war-mongering twat and he did shoot himself after being ordered to remove his telegram post about Russia's losses in Avdiivka and some bullying from the state propaganda headed by Solovyov. Everyone's better off with him dead. Rest in piss, hopefully he won't be the last problem to solve itself.

That's because ridiculously obvious not suicide is a Russian specialty. It's not just a joke.

Regardless of his opinions, factual reporting is a good thing for everyone. He reported on Russian Losses to the Russian People, that makes him an act of good in my philosophy.

Maybe we wouldn't be so numb to the dark reality of politically motivated "Suicide" if it weren't such a common occurrence in Russia.

[–] seaQueue@lemmy.world 27 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Did he "apparent suicide" himself out a window? It's funny how that sort of thing tends to suddenly afflict people who don't follow the Kremlin's narrative.

Unfortunately, no, this is a clear case of firearms and alcohol related death. He injected whiskey directly into his veins and fell backwards onto his gun 5 times.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Andrei Morozov, who also served as a soldier on the front line in Ukraine, said in his last post Wednesday that he decided to “execute” himself to help his comrades in arms avoid fallout from his critical publications, which had angered the military command.

Morozov, who went by the nickname Murz, said in a recent post that about 16,000 Russian troops were killed and the military lost about 300 armored vehicles since October when the four-month battle for the eastern stronghold of Avdiivka began.

Russian war bloggers like Morozov have provided a more factual alternative to terse statements from military officials and a flow of propaganda on state TV channels, giving detailed accounts of the fighting.

While all of them ardently supported the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine, they offered a glimpse into problems faced by Russian troops and assailed the military leadership for ill-conceived tactics and neglect for soldiers’ needs.

One of the most popular war commentators, Igor Strelkov, was handed a four-year prison sentence last month on charges of extremism after he called Putin a “nonentity” and a person of “cowardly mediocrity.” He argued that a total mobilization is needed for Russia to achieve victory and accused the Kremlin of indecision and weakness.

Strelkov, whose real name is Girkin, is a retired security officer who led Moscow-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine in 2014 and was convicted of murder in the Netherlands for his role in the downing of a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet that year.

The original article contains 566 words, the summary contains 246 words. Saved 57%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

It's weird how he starts talking about the Terminator movie and samurais at the end of his post. Bizarre guy.

Google Translated:

Just never again tell your soldiers before a battle, “You won’t change a thing!” tell them what John Connor asked Kyle Reese to tell his mother - “There is no destiny except the one we create for ourselves.” That being said, let's personally say thank you to Jim Cameron for this wonderful film, right here in Hollywood. If I manage to “change something,” give me an example to the soldiers.

In the samurai code “Bushido,” which was written down on paper at the moment when the samurai began to forget it, it is written, among other things:

Often revenge consists of simply breaking into the enemy’s house and dying.

Google improved regarding Russian, it seems.

Comparison:

Just never again tell your soldiers before battle "You won't change anything!" tell them what John Connor asked Kyle Reese to tell his mother - "There is no destiny but the one we make for ourselves." As they say, let's personally thank Jim Cameron for this fine movie, right in Hollywood. If I succeed in "making a difference" - cite me to the soldiers as an example.

The samurai code "Bushido", which was put down on paper at a time when samurai began to forget it, says, among other things:

Revenge is often simply to break into an enemy's house and die.

War is such a stupid waste of resources. Few people at the top reap the rewards whole everyone else pays the cost.

[–] Thecornershop@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

That sounds a lot like capitalism...
