I'm not so active with mine at the moment since I have a desktop computer, but back when I was recovering from a knee injury away from home, it was not just most of my gaming, but also my personal computer for most tasks, via a USB-C hub hooking it up to the keyboard and monitors I was using for work. I ended up completing a personal image editing project using GIMP installed in its desktop mode.
Gaming
From video gaming to card games and stuff in between, if it's gaming you can probably discuss it here!

Gunfire Reborn, Black Book, and Minecraft. Excited to go finish BL3 and Tiny Tina's on it soon
I am! I'm actually playing the Elder Scrolls Online via moonlight streaming.
I used to, does that count? I'm still an avid linux gamer, but mine was just sitting unused compared to my desktop before I decided to sell. Either way, currently playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom on Yuzu. Hasn't been exactly smooth sailing but overall it's been pretty good. The main issues are the emu being so new (bugs) and not having an idea what mods and settings are best for my particular hardware, and TBH steamdeck is great in this area since they're all the same platform aside the storage.
My joycons are breaking and they are so expensive to replace that I am considering getting a steamdeck instead. How well does switch emulation work in general on the steamdeck?
I have a modded switch and I am happy to dump my game carts and emulate them, if they work somewhat well enough.
Full disclosure: I didn't use Yuzu while I had my steam deck, too busy working through my backlog of steam games laying in bed. But from what I've read performance seems to be just ok, not good not great not terrible. People are pulling around 20-25fps with I think? dips into the teens occasionally. The rule of thumb IIRC is expect to need 10x the computing power of the thing you're emulating with a mature emulator and I really have no idea if steam deck is powerful enough or not to emulate the switch smoothly even with fully mature software which Yuzu certainly isn't right now. So if you're only going to be playing in handheld it could really could go either way. Alternatively if you're willing to perform some surgery on your joy-cons there's a manufacturer called gulikit that makes hall-effect replacements for joy-cons (IDK where they're sold). I haven't heard of any reviews for the joy-con model but I've heard good things about their equivalent for steam deck's thumbsticks.
It has become my Dinkum machine. So great to have a system you can just suspend and pick back up again. Aside from that I've been playing Cult of the Lamb on it. The deck seems to be the perfect fit for indie games.
I'm playing Doki Doki Literature Club mainly to see why there are all the disclaimers about disturbing content.
I tried that but lost steam waiting to...be disturbed!
I think I gave up
I like to dock the Steam Deck for couch coop. Go to games include Overcooked, Boomerang Fu and Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time.
Looking to get a steam deck as my next big purchase. Seems like the perfect gaming device for me
Happy to be here. Vampire survivors for me, lol.
Wanna get into God of War, though
I’m currently playing Persona 5, it’s a good game. If you haven't already, play MGS:V it’s an incredible experience on the steam deck.
Alien Fireteam Elite! Runs very well on the Deck.
I've been gaming on Linux for umm about ten years? Before that it was on FreeBSD and before that, it was on Atari ST. It feels so weird to finally be playing the same games as everyone else. Thanks Steam Deckers.
If anyone wants to spin up a private server and host some kind of game, I'll join your world! 7dtd is dropping a new release tomorrow.
Currently playing Traveller’s Rest, it’s a little tavern, stardew-like game. Pretty fun but a little bare on the content at the moment.
Just redownloaded slay the spire and got the downfall mod. Been having a blast. Works great on deck, and although the mod loader is a bit finicky, it works fine once booted
I use my deck daily. Anything that is super intensive I actually just stream from my PC upstairs to my deck / or TV downstairs using the deck. For native games I am currently playing Diablo IV, Eastward, and about to start XCOM 2 after finishing the first game entirely on deck earlier this year.
I had been playing hollow knight, but then I got yuzu and Zelda: tears of the kingdom. It's been awesome.
Playing Resident Evil 3 Remake right now. I'm amazed at the graphics and how smoothly it runs for me. First Resident Evil game I've played, and it is so so scary!
So far I'm enjoying it though. The darkness, the lights and fires make it look so pretty and atmospheric
I just recently got my Steam Deck and I’ve been playing through GTA IV, as when I bought it my PC ran it like garbage and by the time I got a decent PC, GTA V was the new hot thing. It’s been an amazing experience so far, and after I’m finished with this I’ll probably jump into Red Dead Redemption 2.
I’ve been playing Freeways and Graveyard Keeper on my steam deck, snd I’m glad the controls feels tight.
