General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Good. As much as the governments are really trying to push this "Israel is moral and justified in their actions," people are seeing the truth. This isn't a black and white issue, and the US and a chunk of European governments have chosen to support a country bent on subjugating, displacing, and slaughtering Palestinians men, women, and children. Fuck Hamas, but fuck Israel and it's entire response. None of this is justified and thank God people are waking up.

The sad truth is that none of these governments need votes from people that support the Palestinian cause. The French don't, the British don't, the Germans don't, the Americans don't. They all support the right for Israel to defend itself now, but if they had supported the right of the Palestinians to defend themselves against incursions and settlements in the past maybe we might be in a different situation right now?
