Welsh Water has admitted illegally spilling untreated sewage at dozens of treatment plants for years.

The admission came after the BBC presented the water company with analysis of its own data.

One of their worst performing plants is in Cardigan in west Wales.

The company has been spilling untreated sewage there into an environmentally protected area near a rare dolphin habitat for at least a decade.

Well that's messed up. So when can we expect to hear about the people in charge of Welsh Water being fired without golden parachutes? Potential jail time? Fines? Community Service? Punishment in any shape or form at all, for the company or anybody in management who made these decisions? Any kind of consequences at all?

Probably never.

Welsh Water is run as a not for profit I believe? This doesn’t excuse what has been happening, I’m just glad I don’t rely on Welsh Water for water or sewerage, so don’t have to contribute.

We live off spring water and a septic tank on a Welsh hillside.

Welsh beaches are some of the best in the UK, and we don’t deserve them being polluted by our own water authority.
