Disney’s clown management refused to air a trans focused episode because of the “political climate” saying that “LGBTQ+ experience are a sensitive issue” thus catering to bigots.
To be fair, knowing Disney's track record it probably would have been as embarrassing as the short-lived super hero duo of Snowflake and Safespace...
or the Transgender Unicorn Powerpuff Girls episode
or the "Quagmire's Dad" episode of Family Guy
or the Women's Prison episode of "Lost Girl"
...Look I don't trust big name mainstream companies to touch trans voices with a 69 foot pole in a way that makes me give any reaction other than "Can you just call me a slur and be done with it? That would be less offensive at this point!"
(Though Indie platforms are a lot better at this given things like Celeste being an entire game comparing the trans experience of coming out and transitioning to climbing a mountain and Helluva Boss' actually having Millie's Sister be a likable character who is openly trans but not on a soapbox nor a punching line. Implying her existence is valid and not worth mocking OR apologizing for.)
To be even farier, choosing neutrality in times of oppression means you side with the oppressor.
Oh I suppose they don’t need our money
I think it's more trying to win political favor by spending big with the company owned by a member of the incoming presidential administration.
Or it's just wanting to market their ads on that platform and as you said, not having the balls to stick to their boycott
That seems to be what everyone involved with a political party or major corporation did... Make a big show of "We resisted him once, and we'll do it again!" then go "Okay, everyone it's time to line up and kiss Orange Man ass! Biden will you please get the ball rolling with some more of that high road crap?"
That's extraordinarily on brand of them
I was going to say that's incredibly on brand for Disney. Everything I have ever heard about Comcast seems to back up this move.
I'm surprised about IBM though, more because I didn't realize they were still around than anything else.
IBM sold "inmate" counting machines to Nazi Germany. Like, sent techs there to the camps to size up the requirements and everything. It should NOT come as a surprise that they're back on X - they've never had an issue with Fascism (or any other ism) as long as they had money to spend on overpriced iron.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why would they even need a machine to count the prisoners? If they didn't feed their victims and were planning to murder them anyways I'm having trouble understanding why they wouldn't be okay with just a loose head count. Was it really just for counting?
I hope I'm not coming across as insensitive, I've just never heard about this and it sounds so ominous.

Black reports that every Nazi concentration camp maintained its own Hollerith-Abteilung (Hollerith Department), assigned with keeping tabs on inmates through use of IBM's punchcard technology.[2]: 351 In his book, Black charges that "without IBM's machinery, continuing upkeep and service, as well as the supply of punch cards, whether located on-site or off-site, Hitler's camps could have never managed the numbers they did."[2]: 352
Dear God, they used a punch card like it was just another day on the job? I hope they didn't make the "prisoners" do it. I don't know why this is so chilling but something about having to count yourself like an object makes me feel sick.
What makes you think they didn't feed them?
I know I'm way over simplifying but starvation was one of many cruelties inflicted on victims during the holocaust. I don't understand why Nazis would want to count people they intended to murder, but I think it's important to try to understand as much as we can so we don't let it happen again. Which is why I asked.
Well, if you're that curious, there is a book about it. The Wikipedia article goes into some detail about what the systems were used for.
They didn't just truck people into the camps and immediately kill them, so they had to at least track capacity.
Cowards
Had Kamela won, Musk would have been bankrupt within years, likely in jail too (his own words)
Instead of that, loads of people decided to listen to a fraidster thief rapist, and not vote for Harris.
Now we're here and I'm so so tired.
likely in jail too (his own words)
Yes, but not for the reasons he claimed.
He would be in jail for actual criminality, not for his political opinions.
of course they are, they might as well lick his asshole while they are at it. big corporations will always without exception do whatever is necessary to survive.
So pretty much everyone, who's already got a reputation for being shit, or has fallen from grace completely, has returned. No surprises there
