After my having 3 Sinclair computers, I moved on to Atari ST, for a week... before I switched it for an Amiga. At the time, Atari and Amiga were the big names in home computing, while those with more funds might have gone with a Mac or a PC.

What did you use?

@jon@vivaldi.net After my 8-bit Atari, I had no personal computer while at college. Was too busy with class work, and there was no broad access to the internet in those days. On the rare occasion I needed a computer, I used one in a dorm lab or drove home to the Atari. Bought my first Mac in ‘93, just before graduation.

@jon@vivaldi.net I had the 500 and then a 1200. Loved both of them. A friend had an Atari ST so the debate was held often

@jon@vivaldi.net I had a few #sinclair computers as well, it is where I started on this #it stuff. Always wanted a #QL back then but instead when the time came bought an #Amiga followed by an #atari #falcon then a #pc.. No I am on a #mac mainly for personal stuff. The #falcon was a nice piece of kit but tanked.

@jon@vivaldi.net
I went from a 1MHz C64 to a 2.4 GHz PC.

My mother had this "you already have one computer" response every time I wanted to upgrade, so I didn't get to upgrade until I moved out.

@jon@vivaldi.net that'd be an apple ][+ with a stunning 32kb of ram and two-count-em-two floppy drives.
