existing as a palestinian or recognizing the humanity of palestinians is in fact, anti-zionist. according to the transitive property of zionism, everything anti-zionist is anti-semitic. therefore, this older woman just going about her work is mathematically TurboHitler5000.

smuglord

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 39 points 5 days ago

This person would probably do that too.

[–] axont@hexbear.net 128 points 5 days ago (5 children)

keffiyehs aren't even political or specifically Palestinian. They're not even specific to Arab people, like I know Iranians and Afghans who wear them. One Iranian girl I know wore a keffiyeh as part of her school uniform.

"Being Palestinian in my general vicinity is a hate crime"

[–] QuillcrestFalconer@hexbear.net 71 points 5 days ago

They're just incredibly fashionable tbh

i wonder if they’re talking about “El Beeper” which is weird because yes it does beep but it’s a mexican song.

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 58 points 5 days ago

We're dealing with levels of racism that we can't even comprehend

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 27 points 5 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

I think they meant the ring tone of a pager. Presumably because any person who supports Palestine will have some sort of PTSD-like reaction to a reminder that consumer electronics were turned into bombs in ~~Jordan~~ Lebanon?

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 29 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Lebanon, not Jordan, unless something happened while I was asleep.

"At the same time, if I wore a kippah that said, "fuck Muslims," on it, that would not be okay."

Yeah those two are both on the same level.

This is an acute overdose of "I wish nazis, BLM protestors, and the LGBT community could all coexist" brain.

[–] GlueBear@hexbear.net 51 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You think they would've said something before Oct 7th?

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 48 points 5 days ago

They were crying their crocodile tears over "Free parking" signs (alarmingly close to "Free Palestine") well before the Al-Aqsa Flood. Of course they would.

I hope the person who wrote this gets smothered with thousands of keffyeh. Like an entire truck load of them spills on them and they struggle to get out and get tangled up and overheat and die.

[–] Roonerino@hexbear.net 44 points 5 days ago

Unfortunately that's unlikely because a quality keffiyeh is a good breathable fabric so regardless of the weather outside she'd probably be quite comfortable in her keffiyeh cave. Well, comfortable except for being assaulted from all angles by textile-based antisemitism.

Our medical professionals, everyone. 50% of them were in the bottom 50% of their class, and it shows.

[–] imogen_underscore@hexbear.net 39 points 5 days ago (2 children)

it's not just the bottom 50%... the majority of doctors are out-of-touch morons with a superiority complex, the fact they are often from rich backgrounds and have never been told no shows constantly. the fact they are on this pedestal in society like priests were in the past needs to end. they are just some guy.

Holy shit, that whole sub... that's just sad.

I did a bit of research on Judaism to reconcile with zionism/anti-semitism and all that, and I saw how different it is from zionism, and that zionism is actually more anti-semitic than being anti-zionist etc.

But imagine if you knew nothing about it, and then went on r/Jewish. You would be getting the WRONG impression for sure.

Looking at zionists and it's like "holy shit, are you trying to make people become antisemitic?" If I believed everything said by zionists about Judaism, that would mean I was antisemitic.

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 36 points 5 days ago

fucking awful comments, holy shit

[–] CommunistBear@hexbear.net 31 points 5 days ago

That is one of the most cursed threads I've read in a while, holy shit

[–] Smeagolicious@hexbear.net 30 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (11 children)

I did, for a split second, read that as "Mech wearing a keffiyeh" and that's now something I need to make a sketch of.

edit: nvm I shoulda known RetroGrade Minis would have it

Daamn if this pisses off zionists that much I should get one too

I feel like it's healthy to read shit like this from time to time. It helps remind you that you can be a perfectly reasonable person minding your own business and a bad day might still be trying to have you. There are crybabies who want to make it your problem. You're never going to be able to read their mind and even if you did it'd be as if you possessed the cypher that allows you to read the necronomicon and be cursed with it's arcane knowledge. They're simply trying to make your day worse.

[–] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 53 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

The funny thing is, and I think everyone should or probably knows already, keffiyehs aren't just a Palestine thing, let alone Levant thing... they're in Iraq and Yemen...

They're an accepted part of their cultural attire, not simply a political statement... so the reddit OP over here is showing their ass by complaining about this... lmao

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 52 points 5 days ago

Classic zionist crybully tactics classic

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 28 points 5 days ago (1 children)
