In Seattle last year, in Capitol Hill, the gayest and only actual leftist region of the city, some idiot Magatards decided to get into an argument with a rastafarian man.

I was having a smoke, saw the pushing and shoving, Maga guys disappear, Rasta man is pissed, wanders across the street.

He says something like 'Can you believe these shitheads?' and produces one of their hats.

I happened to have on me the lighter fluid for my zippo. I show Rastaman, he says 'you know what to do'.

Soaked the thing in fluid, on a dirt patch where a sidewalk tree once was. Burned it.

I did my part rofl!

Ah, Seattle nightlife can be magical if it doesn't literally kill you.

Can we get this on a T-Shirt

Side note: Disney could make a killing if they sold shirts with this tagline and the old comic book art of Captain America socking Hitler in the jaw.

From the thumbnail I can only see a swastika sooooo…not sure if this is a great design for a shirt that’s likely to be viewed at a distance…

Circle with a red line through it to make it more obvious at a distance maybe? I'm no designer maybe there's a better option

[–] JusticeForPorygon@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Oh shit good point, maybe focus on the punching facists in the face part then

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 23 points 5 months ago

Kidney stones. She’s got all her planted weight and rotation right behind the toe on a perfectly placed kidney shot, that Nazi is going to make a sound like a scared pig singing a soprano aria

[–] Holzkohlen@feddit.de 14 points 5 months ago

I am not saying we should kill all of them BUT I think we should make them be scared of killing them all. I want them to be afraid to openly be a nazi.

Note: fully aware of the irony of this gif, not to mention the wild contrast between the book and film. That being said, the movie is better.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 13 points 5 months ago (3 children)

Just for the record the movie was definitely not the same as the book- Heinlein himself was libertarian, though I wouldn’t say it comes across in the book.

(The book setting is definitely fascist, or at the least authoritarian;)

[–] masquenox@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Heinlein himself was ~~libertarian~~ fascist.

FTFY.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Let me rephrase- heinlein identified himself as libertarian.

[–] masquenox@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

Fair enough.

[–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Wasn't the movie being a satire of the book a conscious choice of verhoeven's?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

The movie was satire, but they bought the naming rights after establishing most of the movie script to avoid an copyright/IP infringement battle.

It was extremely similar, but it’s more accurate to say it was an entirely separate work than not.

Verhoeven meant it as a commentary on the US militarism rather than on heinlein.

[–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 months ago

That makes sense!

[–] bort@sopuli.xyz 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Heinlein himself was libertarian

didn't he change his views a couple times during his life?

[–] Throw_away_migrator@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

I dunno, but his dirty old man era was wild

No violence! Both sides are good.
Let's compromise and only have a little genocide, as a treat.

Nazi's are the biggest losers in history.

They were all like "our people are the best people in the world, no other race comes even close to comparing. And our army is the strongest army in the world with the best equipment imaginable".

Then they only fought in a single war, and lost. Meaning they are losers by definition.

Want to know the even funnier part?

They were beaten by a combination of diverse countries working together, who let anyone join.

Nazis were literally beaten by diversity and inclusivity. lol

[–] RIPandTERROR@sh.itjust.works 7 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The genocide paradox has a lot in common with the tolerance paradox.

[–] Shou@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Paradox shmaradox. All I want is peace and prosperity. Whatever it takes.

[–] problematicPanther@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

[–] lesnout27@lemm.ee 3 points 5 months ago

Not sure if typo, or too old to understand the joke.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 20 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Axis, a bastardization of "asses". Germany was part of the "Axis powers" of WWII
