2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Very close shave today. The light, citrusy vibe of Jack is a perfect fit for the weather we're having today; mid 80's (~30Β°C) and humid. There's even a friggin' air quality alert.

I haven't used this Ralf Aust for a while. It has been sitting in pile of razors that need an edge refresh. I got to that last night, hit record on the camera, and made a video.

I have a dwindling pile of razors to do, and as you can tell, there's no planning. I just hit "record" and start rambling. You probably won't see another razor honing video for a while. I promised a friend to do a knife sharpening tutorial, and need to get that done.

Non-fruity fruit

  • Brush: Dogclaration LG 2022 Mystery Brush (B16)
  • Razor: Razorine Premium Brass
  • Blade: Lord New Lord Platinum
  • Lather: House of Mammoth Mood Indigo
  • Aftershave: Mammoth / Noble Otter / Declaration Grooming Cerberus
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! Black Watch

The Razorine is always fun to use. It took me a moment to remember how to use this unusual geometry, but I ended up getting a good, albeit lengthy, shave.

Blueberry and stone fruit, so good

Another combination I wouldn't think of; blueberry, stone fruit, then plum, jasmine, and incense. Interesting journey!

It works very well IMO. If you try it, please let me know what you think!

Btw, I think plum is one of the stove fruit in Cerberus too.

  • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
  • Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (5)
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Santa Noir - Soap
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Santa Noir - Aftershave
  • Fragrance: Barrister & Mann - Lavender, Interrupted - EdP

Ooo nice. I haven't had this good of a Tusk lather in a while. I had a feeling I haven't been loading enough soap on account of my tubs being at least 2 years old, so today I made sure to really go for it.

A good Tusk lather is a wonderful thing.

  • Razor: Autostrop VC2
  • Blade: Feather FHS-10
  • Brush: Semogue TSN LE 2012
  • Pre-Shave: Proraso Pre Shave Cream
  • Lather: Taylor of Old Bond Street Peppermint
  • Aftershave: Barber No3 Marmara
  • Additional Care: Alum Block

A new week. A new shave. And a new-to-me razor. And for the first time in years I actually had to think about how to insert the blade.

These Valets are fun! I'm curious to hear how long the FHS-10 blades last for you, though.

Well, at least one shave so far :P

I am getting sloppy with posting my shaves – I forgot to post my Saturday shave. Ok shave today, though I wonder if I should make more effort with honing this razor.

Have a good night!

though I wonder if I should make more effort with honing this razor.

Im my experience, when I wonder whether I should, I definitely should.

I am getting sloppy with posting my shaves

For me it's the mailcall and fix-up posts that I got sloppy about

Im my experience, when I wonder whether I should, I definitely should.

That's probably right πŸ˜‚

  • Brush: Muninn Woodworks w/ C&H V19 Fanchurian
  • Razor: Ralf Aust 6/8, Full Hollow Square Point
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Reserve Cool
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Reserve Cool Aftershave Splash

Nice shave today. I usually go through a routine with Mrs. Pudding and have her sniff different soaps to decide which she likes that day. There's only a handful in my den that she likes every day. She liked Cool off the tub but wasn't big on it post shave. Always subject to change, day to day. I, however, really enjoy it.

[–] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That sounds kinda fun. Mrs. Walden gives some unbelievable eye rolls when it comes to soap, but she does think it's cute when our 1.5 year old sniffs the tubs.

It really helps mix things up, that's for sure
