TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Shohreh Aghdashloo. She was an actress in Iran before she moved to the US. The only other role of hers I'm familiar with is Dina Araz on the fourth season of 24. I think she also did a voice role for Archer. She's got a lot of acting credits, though.
But yeah, she does play some badass hardasses lol.
Kathryn Joosten decided to get into acting at age 53 and played all sorts of memorable character roles until her death in 2012.
She's been in all sorts of things including Star Trek. She was in Mass Effect, Destiny, and Assassin's Creed. She 's a pretty prolific voice actor too which is great since her voice is so unique.
God her voice is so damn sexy though, as is she. She plays the fearless leader so perfectly.
Yeah, I pulled up her IMDB a bit ago. I knew she was in a lot, but didn't realize how much voice work she's done. I'm not much of a gamer, so those roles slipped past me.
She’s also in the movie Star Trek Beyond
Oh yeah! Forgot about that. Now I also remember she played a scientist in one of the X-Men movies.
Sounds like you just haven’t been aware of what she’s been in.
She had a Best-supporting actress Oscar nomination in 2004 for ‘The House of Sand and Fog’ and Primetime Emmy win in 2009 for Outstanding Actress in a miniseries or movie.
It’s more the case that , as for Michelle Yeoh, older women seem to get meatier roles in science fiction and fantasy than in mainstream or art house productions.
I would love to see Shorleh come over to the Trek franchise in a worthy role. I can definitely see her standing out in the 25th century.
Oh, absolutely. I recognize her every time she's in something but just haven't seen a lot of the things she's been in. Can't believe I forgot she was in Star Trek, though (the JJ Abrams ones, so hopefully I can be forgiven for that lol).
That would be awesome. Ideally not some viewscreen-only admiral or other small, desk role but a proper character. Don't know if I'd prefer a protagonist or antagonist. I liked Philippa Georgiou, but I loved Emperor Georgiou. Guess they can surprise me.
Edit: Probably too late now, but she would be awesome as like the head of Section 31 or something (and Michelle Yeoh's boss) in the S31 movie.
Shohreh is also great as Admiral Shala'Raan vas Tonbay in Mass Effect.
