I am not sure that technology alone is to blame. But I have been thinking for a while now that recommendation algorithms should be open, scrutinized, and regulated even.

It's not technology alone, but what was previously a local ordeal is now spread worldwide and with our ever interesting screen time to the point some people live half their life digitally, it's only getting worse.
