General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

I thought we would eventually see this race-baiter come out, but I didn't expect it to be even before the announcement of Badenoch's election was made.

When black people talk about things that affect black people, they're accused of racism and threatened with losing their whip. If this was Jew against Jew, everyone would be too shit scared of being called an antisemite that they wouldn't dare speak up. It's sad that black people are an acceptable punching bag.

And for the record, Badenoch is a white supremacist.

And for the record, Badenoch is a white supremacist.

Let's look up the definition of white supremacy, shall we?

the belief that white people constitute a superior race and should therefore dominate society, typically to the exclusion or detriment of other racial and ethnic groups.

Right. Can you point me to where Badenoch has espoused views that think people of a different race, like herself, should be treated as lesser people?

When she said that the Tory party donor that made those comments about Diane Abbott should be excused.

Since when was she given authorization to make that determination? She wasn't the offended party she wasn't the threatened party and the individual who made the comment isn't even an MP so she's got absolutely no jurisdiction whatsoever to forgive anyone.

When she said that the Tory party donor that made those comments about Diane Abbott should be excused.

She defied the party line at the time and called out the racist language used. If I remember right, her complaint was with the media talking about it for weeks, not dismissing the comments.

As per usual she's tempting to rewrite history on that one. She's now said that she forgives him and that everyone should move on. Telling everyone to move on from problematic things she or her party have done seems to be her only tactic, I don't believe it's going to work however.
