Don't think they make an iFixit kit for that, but I'll give it a go. Who's your parts supplier?
My parents custom-built me but were limited by the available hardware, so I usually take whatever is in the parts bin and fits. Do you think doing a major upgrade, tearing everything out, and replacing it with quality parts might be worth it?
Nah. Might end up with driver soup by the end of it but no need to yank all the parts. Custom builds work just fine with a little TLC.
